STRUCTURE AND MANAGEMENT
The governing document of the charity is a m]si deed. The latest copy of the trust deed signed on 8 September 2016.
Within Presbyterian Church polity the elders carry the responsibility of providing leadership to the church. The ¢lders
together tnake decisions about the running of the church. On a day-to-day basis the minister would be in operational
control, but in consultation with the rest of the elders.
The elders are the Trustees of the church. New elders are chosen by means of elections, as and when there is need for
additional elders, or when li becomes apparent that there are those within the congregation with suitable gTift5 in line with
the biblical requirernents for elder5. All the members of the church can vole in ihis eleclion to appoint the eld¢rs.
DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE
The charitable purpose of Crumlin Evangelical Presbylerian Church is the advancement of religion.
ACTJVITIES AND OBJECTIVES
In accordance with the general purpose of advancing religion, Crumlin Evangelical Presbyterian Church seeks to
communicate to all in the local community and ￿rther afield rhe message of rhe gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ as the
chief rneans of benefitting the lives of men. women. ix)ys and girls bolh in this world and the hereafter. This gives
assurance of well-being by increasing hope and potential lor the fvture: contributes to the building up of character; reduces
the attraction ot. harmful habils and pur5ui15' and encourages participation in beneficial activities. Benefits from the
provision of opportunities for public worship are ihe fruits of Christian fellowship and social interaciion. These are
evidenced by appreciation of moral, spiritual and SOCTal benefits received from instruction. help, and support given in
times of need in lives and families. This is equally true of support from the church for missionary activities abroad. Those
who have benefitted show development in characler and relaiionships. and become better motivated and better equipped
to help others. With nomial precautions and statutory protection policies being itnplen]ented in our activities we have no
evidence of any harm arising from the pursuit of our policies. Church members and adherents, and the general public in
the Crum lin area are the imrnediate beneficiaries, while those further afield and in other countries also receive much
benefit from our Ministries. The only private benefit flowing from our purpose relates to the employment of the minister
of Crumlin Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He is paid a salary advaTiccd through the deTiominalion's office. He is also
paid the rate5 on hi5 house together with the relevant portion of his telephone bill, and any other incidental expenses
incurred in carrying out hi5 church duties. Much of his work TS carried on from an officelstudy in his own home. His
telephone is provided as the contact number for the church, from which calls are made on behalf of the charity. He also
provides hospitality in his home on a regiilar basis. Any expenses are incidental and necessary in the furtherance of the
aim5 and work of the charity. and provide no problem for the other truslL'es. The mini%tLr is not involved in detern)ining
the level of contribution to such expenses. These are fftanaged bj the Irustees in accordance with denominational poli¢y.
PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT
The Church has g)iven careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefit
to ensure that the activities entered into during the year have help¢d io achieve the Church's objective and activities, as
well as providing public benefit.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMAfiCE
Crumlin Evan(Telical Presb)rterian Church exists to proclaim and advance the Christian faith, in accordance with our
subordinate standards.. the Wesrminster Confession of Faith, and the Shorter and Larger Caiechisms. We seek to do this
to the benefit of all people in the Crumlin area. and indeed globally through our links to mission partneTS.
The work of Crumlin Evangelical Presbyterian Church continued throughout 2023. The central focus of our life &s a
church is the gathering for worship each Sunday. both morning and evening. We welcome anyone frorn our immediate
comtnunity in Crumlin and beyond to covne along and benefit from M,hat takes place as we gather for our services. We
were encouraged to see the attendances at our weekly services coniinue to grow in 2023. Throughout the year. three
baptisms took place. and thTe¢ new members were add¢d to th¢ church.
In addition to this, our prayer meeting tak.es place on a Wednesday evening, and a number of other ministries function at
other titnes during the week. They include a weeklv toddler group attended by numerous families from the area, a
Thursday evening youth ministry, and also a children's Sunday School which meets before the morning service each
week during lemi lime. On a monthly basis there is a Women's Bible Study. a Men's Group, and a Women's Meeting.
In May, we held a weekend away as a church family at Casilewellan Castle, hearing a series of talks on the book of
Genesis.
Over the course of 2023 various m7ssion organisations that we support were represented at our various meetings in order
to provide an update on the work taking place. These visilaiions included represenTatives from Equipped Sweden, African
Christian Textbook5, London City Mission. and European Mission Fellowship.
In ?023 Cruinlin EvangFelical Presbylerian Church wa5 able to provide £37,450 to the central fund of the Evangelical
Presbylerian GhuTch for the support of lis minislers. as well as contributing over £12.000 lo various ChT151ian Missionary
orgFanisations.
We are Ihankfvl ihat through all of the above means we were able to ￿lfil our aims as a chariry in 2023.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Total income of the congregation during the year was £92,363 compared to £118,015 in the previous year. The
congTegation' s main source of income is member5, contributions through the Weekly I￿ree￿ill Offering which decreased
from £47,810 in 20?2 to £46,196 in 2023. The amounis re¢¢ived from The Mackey Eslaie (c￿MIln EPC) to cover the
congregational utility, building and ground maintenance e.¥pen5es inrrea5¢d fiom £15.718 in 202? to £30,415 in 2023.
During the 2022 year the church also received £35.000 from the Evangelical Presb}Jterian Church central fund from the
sale of property to be used for general church funding.
Total expcnditure increased from £84.441 in 2022 to £103,647 in 2023. This increase is mainly due ro increased building
and maintenance costs during the 2023 year.
The trustee5 are satisfied that there are adequate funds in place lo ensure that the Church can continue its activities and
the financial statements for the year ended 31 sl December 2023 can be signed off on a going concern basis.

STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES, RESPONSIBILITIES
The Trustees are responsible for preparing the annual report and the f￿anCial statements of the congregation in accordance
with applicable law and generally accepted accounting practice.
As the congregation, s toial income does not exceed £250,000, The Trustees have elected under Section fvl(3) of the
Charities Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 10 prepare a receipts and pawent account and a statement of assets at)d liabilities.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting records ihat are sufficient to show and explain the
congregation's transactions and disclose with Teasonable accuracy at any time its financial position. They are also
responsible for safeguarding the assets of the congregation and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and
delection of fraud and other irregularities.
