A summary of the Charl￿5 main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the
main achievements in the year
There were 21 girls in the unit and we met for 30 niEhtS throughout the year.
The Brownies took part in a balanced programme including games, craft and singing. Many badges
were worked for and obtained during the year including activities from the 'Express myself and
'Skills for my future, themes from our new Girlguiding programme. We completed the Ulster
Centenary Challenge pack and one of our Brownies won the competition for designing the badge
for this challenge pack. Our Brownies also completed many Interest badges and we awarded 9
bronze 5 silver and 3 gold awards.
We had a special year of activities as we celebrated 75 years of Girlguiding in Killyman. This started
with a Church Service on Thinking Day after which we planted a tree in the Church grounds as part
of the Queen's Green Canopy. We had a celebration party with the Guides and Rainbows in April
followed by a reunion evening when many past members and Leaders returned for a night of
reminiscing! It was wonderful to have 2 of our original Brownies in attendance that nightl We
designed our very own badge to give to each girl to mark the occasion.
We completed the year with a Pack holiday at Lorne joined by the Guides.
There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and that there was no private benefit.
