BALLEE NON.SUBSCRIBING PRESBYfERIAN CHURCH 33 BALLEE ROAD DOWNPATRICK BT307ER NORTHERN IRELAND CHARITY REGISTRATION NoNIC105747 TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT for 2023 (Having regard to the Charity Commission for NI Guidance on public benefit) The charity trustees during the year were Allan Chambers, Roy Kelly, Joyce McBride, Lorna Kelly, Alan Lightbody, Cecil Telford, James Cleland Rev. Rosalind Taggart and Jayne Caven. The Church is governed by Trust Deed and acts in accordance with the Constitution and Code of Discipline of the Non Subscribing Presbyterian Church of Ireland. The church seeks Its charitable purposes to promote the inalienable right of every Christian to search the records of divine truth for his or her own instruction and guidance to forn] their opinions with regard to what they teach and to worship God in sincerity to the dictates of his or her conscience, without privatio penalty, or inconvenience by their fellow-men. Unfortunately due to illness the Installation of the Rev. Taggart had to be postponed for the second time. We were however delighted that it finely took place on 18 November. During the year services were conducted each Sunday except during July and August when joint services were held with the Clough and Downpatrick congregations in rotation. Joint services also took place where there were five Sundays in the month. Special services held included a Service to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III, two Communion services, a Harvest Service, a Children's Day Service, Remembrance Day Service, a Carol Service and an Easter Sunday Service. In December we joined Downpatrick members to see pantomime 'Beauty and the Beast, Through the Sunday School, Denominational events and church activities the children are encouraged to become thoughtful and responsible citizens. Financial support was provided through Free Will Offerings, Stipend, donations, collections and fund raising events. Members also supported other charities including the Farl Haig Fund, the Salvation Arniy Christmas Familv Appeal, the Denominational Orphan Society and other churches within the Denomination. The Minister prepared a monthly calendar which kept everyone infornied of activities, events and news of members who were or in hospital. Members who are unable to attend church due to age or inflln]ity particularly appreciate this as it ensures they still feel part of the church conllnunity. Throughout the year the trustees had regard to the public benefit which helped to enrich the lives of church members, their families youth organizations and the wider community.
