The past year has been a difficult one following on from the effects of the pandemic. Animals that were part of the family during lock down and working from home are coming in needing permanent homes. Our expenditure on veterinary services and wages in particular have increased reflecting the need for additional spaying and neutering and the after care at the sanctuary. It was impossible to provide the level of care needed using volunteers so the decision was made to increase staff to maintain adequate cover.
Fortunately our supporters are wonderful and maintained or increased their donations along with our volunteers and staff running some successful fundraising activities and charity grants particularly Pets at home foundation. To help with our commitment to help all companion animals we are about to embark on a major improvement and renovation of kennels, cattery and laundry facilities with opportunities for supporters to visit and see for themselves the value of their donations.
Looking forward to another year of challenges and rewards seeing our pets finally finding their forever loving homes.
Gratefully yours
Denise.
