East Antrim Royal Naval Association Branch
This is my second report for inclusion in the report for the CCNII. Since my report for last year, we
have recruited two new members (one of which is still a serving member of His Majestws Royal
Navy. We aim to try and recruit new members to the Branch or other Branches of the Association at
the Annual Northern Ireland Regional Armed Forces Day 2024 to be held in the Loughshore Park
Newtownabbey on 22 June 2024.
We have not held any fundraising events inviting people outside of the branch but at our regular
branch meetings we have been holding ballots to raise funds as well has each member paying a
branch fee annually to help keep branch funds active just in case. We hope to have a fundraising
event at some stage in 2024 it is just trying to find a viable and suitable date in the Whiteabbey
Royal British Legion Club, where we also hold our meetings, as we like to support the Royal British
Legion as well. We will continue to promote cornradeship via our monthly meetings and the
occasional social as well as the monthly ballot.
We also purchased w￿3t￿S from the Royal British Legion and attended the SeNices of
Remembrance for the Somme at Knockagh Monument on the Sunday nearest i July 2023 and
Remembrance Day 2023 on 12 November 2023. We will again be attending these Services of
Remembrance in 2024 and hopefully again use them to recruit serving members of the Rese￿eS and
Sea Cadets into the Branch or Branch nearer them.
