Structure, Governance and Management

Donagh Development Association is governed by its Constitution. The trustees at the date of this report and those who served during the financial year together with the dates of any changes are set out are listed below.

Objectives and Activities Objectives

The Association is established to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Donagh, County Fermanagh and it's environs, without distinction of age, sex, race, political, religious or other opinion; by associating with the statutory authorities, voluntary organisations and the inhabitants in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the protection of health and for recreation, with the object of improving the conditions of life for the inhabitants of this community.

Key Activities in this Year

Key activities in this year included the Summer festival, Halloween fireworks event, Christmas Disco and celebrations, yoga, art activities, Connected Kids Mindfulness sessions, garden allotments, play school. In addition to this, the hall has been available for hire for birthday parties/ private events and meetings, and for other community activities. Some of these classes include, taekwondo, youth club, GAA indoor training, movers and groovers.

Donagh Development Association Trustees have considered Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s general guidance on public benefit when reviewing our objectives and in planning our future activities to ensure that these achieve the association’s purposes and provide a benefit to beneficiaries.

Financial Review Review of Business

Donagh Development Association is non-profit making with income and resources in this year of £22,402.91

The trustees continue to manage resources in an efficient and sustainable manner.

Reserves Policy

Donagh Development Association have a Reserves Policy, which requires that reserves are built or maintained at a level which ensures that the organisations core activities could continue during a period of unforeseen difficulty and that the organisations known liabilities will be paid should the organisation cease to trade.

Future Plans

Donagh Development Association plan to continue to focus on controlling costs, while maintaining the high standards of service to our beneficiaries.

STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES’ RESPONSIBILITIES

for the year ended 31/12/2023

The Trustees are responsible for preparing the financial statements in accordance with applicable law and regulations.

The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the financial statements comply with all appropriate regulations. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
