STRUCTURE AND MANAGEMENT

The charity trustees of the congregation are the members of ils Kirk Session. Under the congregation's governlng
document. The Code. the book of the constitution and government of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. the Kirk
Session seeks lo watch over and promote the spiiitual interest of the congwalion and of persons not connected
with any ¢ongregalion who are within its bounds. 11 ensures pastoral care is in place in the Congregation and Seeks
to further the contribution of the Church lo Christian witness and service in the local community. The Kirk Session
has delegated to its Congregational Ccrfnmittee the temporal affairs of the congregation including administering all
funds and property belongin9 to the Gongregalion. Members of the Kirk SesS￿n are eX￿ffici0 members of the
Congregallon81 Committee.
The Kirk Session consists of the ordained minister and the ruling elders of the congregation8. All members are
enlilled lo propose, speak and exercise equal voles al meetings, except that the Moderator, the mlnlslers in active
duty in the congregation, has no d6liberative but only a casting vote.
St81ed meetings of the Kirk 8688lon are hekl as required throughout the year.
To be chosen for the office of the eldership in the congregation a person must be a voting member and a regular
attendant on ils ordlnances. The selection of those proposed to be called to the office can be either by the
Congregation or by the Kirk Sessv)n. Membern are ele¢ted rf they obtain Iwo-thlrds of thos? who vote.
Pro•byt•ry
Under the Presbyterian Church in Ireland form of govemance the corporate oversight of a Congregation 15 the
responsibility of a Presbytery which superintends generally the spiritual and temporal affairs of the congregations
assigned lo il by the General Assembty of the Presbylervan Church in Ireland. Draperslown congregation of the
Presbylerian Church has been assigned to the Tyrone Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church In Ireland. The
membership of the Presbytery consists mainly of the active ministers of congregations assigned lo it by the
General Assembly, minsters who have retired from active duty and an elder appointed by the Kirk Session of the
congregabon.
The G•n•ral A88ambty
The General Assembty 1$ the supreme court of the Church. representing in one body the whose Church and acting
as ils supreme legislative, administration and judicial authority, in dealing with all matters brought before it. The
General A$$embty is normally ¢onslrtuled during the first week in June for worship and lo conduct it5 business. Al
the end of business il is dis$olved. The membership of the General Assembly consists mainty of the active
ministers ol each congregation. retired minstern and a representative elder appoinled by the Klrk Session of eaGh

Presbyterian Church in Ireland. as a Refomied Church wrthin the wider b¢)dy of Christ is grounded in the
Scriptures, and exists lo love and honour Gc¥J through faith in His Son and by the power of His Spirit. and lo enable
her members lo play their part in lulfilling God's mission to our workl

The congregation meets for worship every Sunday and visitors afe welcome lo join. The Sacrament of the Lord's
Supper is observed on several occasions during the year and all those who have been baptised and who have
made a profession of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are admrtted to the Lord's Supper. The congregation ha5

Worshlp and prnyfrr
The Gongregation nornia1￿ meet$ for worship each Sunday at 10'.45am.
As well as our regular services durlng the year the Church offers Sacraments of 8aptism and Marriage services. A$
congregatson we gave thanks fof farthfvl 5ervi¢es and sought to comfort those who had been bereaved during tha
year.
At 31 December 2025 there were 27 communicant members and 25 families connected with the congregation. The
average week 8ttendance al morning wcyship b 19.

Members of the congregation who affj unable to attend church due to sickn83s or age are visited on a regular basis
by the minister, elders or by one of the Gongregalion's pastoral visitors.

Al a Iwal level the Cong￿gaI￿n regularly supports Tearfund, an evangelical Christian relief and development charity,
working with partner¥ to tackle the causes and effects of poverty. bringing Jesus Christ's good news lo the poor in
over 100 countries around the world.
Gary and Mary Reid P.C.l. Mtssionaries are based in Southwest Kenya in the heartLqnd of the Maasai tribe wherè
Gary lea¢he$ In the established churches there. The Reid$ a180 work with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social
Development, Children's Department in Narok. helping vulnerable children who have suffered. or have been
threatened with abuse, Female Genital Muts"lalion, child labour and negle¢l. They a150 help women who have been
abused and provide refuge al the Mission when thi8 is required.
The congregation supports the United Appeal ￿ Mission which 1$ a Central fund ofthe Presbyterian Church in Ireland.
This lund enable$ congregations to support the wider mission of the denominalH)n and lo do mission and outreach
on a denominational basis beyond what the congregation could do on its ¢)wn. The United Appeal Fund provides
financial support for mission personnel at home and overseas, assists congregations with the deployment of locally
based staff, enables church planting. provmjes grant support for the upkeep of ¢hurch premises, assi51 with the
running costs of Union Theological College, the Chur¢h's training college for ministry students, and financially
support$ ¢ongregation in the areas ol worship. discipleship. global MisS￿n. outroach. leadership and pastoral care.
The congregation also ¢ontribule8 to the denominatlon'8 annual World Development Appeal, Sunday School project
and any other special appeals.

The minister and one of our elders were nominated to atterKI the meeting of the General Assembty ofthe PTesbylerian
Church in Ireland held In A$$embly Buildings, Belfast. in June.

The Sunday Schcol meets every Sunday moming where the children leam about God through various aclivilies.

The Trustees wish lo acknowledge their deep appreclallon of those who gNe freety of their time by serving on
commillees and helping with organisal¢ons and other church a¢twities.
PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT
The Presbyterian Church in Ireland meets the publi¢ benefit requirement by providing benefit lo ils members and the
general publK by making known the Chrislban Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through the advancement of religion.
The direct benefits which fl¢)w from the purposes of the Church include the gaining of an understanding in Christian
beliefs as sel out in the Bible and in the Church's subordinate standards Ilhe Westrnin$ler Confession of Faith and
the Shorter and Larger Catechisms) leading lo spiritual and moral development and opportunrties for response to
Bible leaching. In lurn, this framework ￿adS lo pracli¢al expresslons of Christian beliefs and standards in the local
¢ommunlty Such as through the care of those in need lin¢luding the sick. disabled and bereaved).
Generally the above benefits are delNered tha1￿ by congregatFons and their members, or are facilitated through
presbyteries or are organised and delivered centralty. Local delivery 1$ facilitated by central resources in almost all
cases. Publi¢ a¢¢e$s Is made known through the use of noliceboards, printed material. press advertisement,
websites, and $o¢ial media or in other ways.
The benefits are demonstrated through reguLqr evaluation of the serv￿e5 and informal and ad-hoc feedback from
members, their families, and members of the publK.
The purpose does not lead lo haryn. The onty private benefit flowing from our purpose is related lo Ministers,
Missionaries, Deaconesses, Irish Mission workers and Lay Agents who ￿ceNe benerrts as a result of their holding
office or employment. However, this is incidentsl and necessary in order lo further our charitable purpose. There are
no other privale benefits. The beneficiaries of this purpose are members, theii families, other individuals that the
Presbyterian Church in Ireland is in direct and indirect contact with, the community in which pastoral services are
provided and other Communities throughout Northem Ireland. the RepubliG of Ireland, and worldwide which benefit
from our engagement with and support for both Christian arKI other secular organisalbons. charities and individual
members of the public.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
The congregation's main source of income is members, contributions through the Weekly Freewill Offering.
The results for the year are Set out on page 9. which the Trustees consider lo be satisfactory.
The reserves of the Congregation a￿ held for the advancement of its charitable purpose. other than restricted
reserves which are hekl for a designated purpose.
STATEMENT OF TRUSTEE RESPONSIBILITIES
Thè Tiustses are responslble lor preparing the annual report and the financial stalem8nls of the Cong￿gatIon in
accordance with applicable law and generalty a¢cepted accounts'ng practice.
A8 the congregation's lolal income does not exceed £250.000, the Truslees have elected under Section 64131 of
the Charities Acl (Northern Ireland) 2008 to prepare a receipts and paymonl$ ac¢ounl and a stal&ment of a$$ets
and liabililwJ.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping adequate accounting re¢ord$ that are sufficienl lo show and explaln the
¢ongregalion'$ transactions and disclose with feasonable accuracy al any lime its financial posit￿. They are also
re$pon$ibl$ for safeguarding the assets of the congregation and hence for taking reasonablo $l•p$ for the
prevention and detection of fraud and other Irregularitie8.

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
BASIS OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
AS the total Income of the congregation 1$ less than £250.OCM) th8 congregation have elected in accordance with the
provisions in The Chaiities (Accounts and Reports ReguLAbons (Northern Ireland) 2015 to prepare its account$ on
a receipts and payments basis.
FUND ACCOUNTING
Endowment funds are funds, the ¢aprtal of wh￿h musl be retained erther permanently or al the congregation'5
discretion., the income derived from th8 endowmenl 1$ lo be used either as reslricled or unreslri¢led income funds
depending upon the purpose f￿ which the endowment was established in the fir51 pla¢e.
Reslricled funds comprise lal in¢ome from endowments which is to be expended onty on the restricted purpose8
Intended by the donor and Ibl revenue donalion$ or grants for a specific congregational a¢tivity intended by the
donor. Where these funds have unspent balances. interest on their pooled investment is apptytioned to the
individual funds on an av¢rage balance basis.
Unrestricted funds are income funds wh￿h are lo be spent on the congregation's general purposes. De8ignated
fund3 are general funds sel 8SKle by the congregation for use in Ihe future.

The Church Building and Graveyard are deemed to be Heritage assets as defined by the Charities SORP
{FRS1021. These Heritsge asset$ are not in¢luded in the stslemenl of assets and liabilitie$ a$ infomialion on
the cost or valuats'on is not available and s￿h information cannot be obtsined al a cost comrnen$urate wllh the
benefit to the users of the accounts and to the parish.
The Manse and Glebe land has been recognised on values wh￿h the Trustees deem to ￿p￿sent the estimated
fair value of the property al 1 January 2018. No depreciation has been provided on this building as the Current
estimated residual value is not less than rts caThying value and the remaining useful life currently exceeds 50
years.
