LIsNASIWomEN's GROUP CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT FOR YEAR 2023 to 2024 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING ItyAPR 2024 Lisnaskea Women's Group meet 2 Wednesday nights a month In Dnmthaw Fold Lisnaskea. Afternoon Tea is arranged for 3 Wednesday of each month in our local eating establishments as requested by our membeTS to enable the Group to meet and socialise. My thanks to our Secretary for organising a Programme of Activities to Indude Speakers. Crafting. Teas, Trips out and sourcing Funding from South West Age Partnership to help cover cost of Speakers and Chair Exerclses that we have each Monday in Oak Healthy Living Centre. Thanks to Treasurer for maintaining good fll)ancial Accounts. Also I want to Thank the Committee members for their support to me and the other members throughout the year. Thanks to Mrs Mandy Graham, Fold Manager for setting up the room for our meetlngs. LWG donated a Book Case, table cloths and TV Licence for the comfort of the residents. Big Thanks to Lisnaskea Fairs and Market Con]mittee for their donation of £lOOO. Since last April we have had Speakers on many subjects. Joan told us about her experience as a Police Officer in Manchester Police Force for over 30 years. Sharon from Fennanagh and Omagh District Council. Age Frlendly Departtnent gave an update on what the Council is dolng to meet the needs of Older people in both Communities. Noelle a Nurse wlth the Organ Donation Unit gave an update on the new Law on "Organ Donation I" June 2023" We now need to "Opt Out" if we do not want to donate our organs. Tracey a trained Councillor in Counselling tslked about keeping good mental and Physlcal health as we get older. lan who works at Cavan Crematorium was very infonnative about being cremated. Insp Joni with PSNI tslked about her role in dealing with Abuse and Violence in the Community. Jill from Cancer Connect gave an overview of Services they provide for people with Cancer. Last June LWG went to Donegal on a day trip. For St. Patrick's Day, Halloween and Chrlstmas the Group goes out for a meal and entsrtalnment. Last year seven ex members passed away. also three currerAt members died. These funerals were well attended by members of Lisnaskea Women's Group. Our aims are to prevent loneliness and isolation which our programme of activities enable members to participate with friends in safe environments. Slnce last Aprll we have recelved fidIng from FernIash & Omagh Coundl and South West A8e partnehip to have Chalr Exerdses In Oak Hdthy Llvlng Centre wlth Ruth. These dasses are well attended by members and others in the Community. Last year. 11 of our retlred rnembern passed away. We also loss 4 present mellthers to Cancer and Lung diseases. Kathleen Cassidy was wlth LWG slnce 1995 and a great Commtts member. Llsnaskea Falrs and Market Committee donated £IOOO to Llsnaskea Wonwi's Group. Mrs Blmey was requested to carry out the Electlon of Officers. She started by CODgratulathg LWG on belng a great acttve of WOD1 and a good attenthce at meetlng. Mrs Btrney dedarnd all Offlces Closed.
