The first year, any from this section had achieved them. The girls planned a camp at Dunluce Guide House, where some of the girls achieved their adventure theme badges, putting up tents, backwood cooking and firestarting, with a trainer coming in from scouts to help teach new skills and knowledge. The girls developed independent and problem-solving skills. Additionally, the girls took part in a colour run. We had four girls begin their young leaders’ qualifications with younger sections. Overall, the girls earned approximately 10 badges. The girls were awarded their badges at a special pudding celebration at a local restaurant.

The section ensures it is doing this by encouraging membership from all sections of the community. Having an inclusive and supportive environment that challenges girls to be the best they can be. The section gives girls the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and supportive environment, try new things and learn about themselves.
