I" April 2016 to 31" March 2017 I" January 2024- 31" December 2024 A summary of the Charirfs main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the maln achlevements in the year Dunluce Guide House continues to be a popular venue for girlguiding members and non- members on this beautiful stretch of coast. So as the Open Golf tournament was coming to Royal Portrush in July, we decided to promote the guide house with the tourist board. We had a visit from the tourist board certification office in March, and we are now certified as a Hostel by Tourism Northern Ireland and our profile is on the Discover Northern Ireland website. The monthly safety checks continue and in 2025 we have incorporate all essential checks and they are carried out by the electrician. Once he has checked the equipment, he then follows up by sorting out any issues found. Work has been completed on the septic tank. This included a new pump, control panel and pipework. We have now removed the play park and have replaced this with a simple set of swings for younger members. The swings are situated to the left of the building which means leaders can observe the girls even when in the kitchen. We have also installed a camp fire area in the grounds, this will be a safe area for families and guiding units to have a camp fire or BBQ. This area has now been used by several groups and we have had very positive feedback. Going fonvard we will be looking at lighting on the path up to the camp fire area. There are also seating mats in the boot room to enable groups to sit comfortably at the camp fire area. There is a sand bucket for safety, which will be kept in the playhouse until needed by each group. The house has had its usual update to paintwork, which keeps it fresh and clean. With the hard work of Miriam we were able to get money from the Awards for all project, this went towards replacement and upgrade of the fire doors in the house. The quote for fire doors was in the region of £7,500, so it was important we looked at ways to get more funding to help cover our costs as cost-of-living crisis in the last year has really afferted the running of the house and the decisions we make. As a committee we continue to promote Dunluce Guide House, and we will ensure it is safe and fit for purpose for use by guiding groups, community groups and families. There was no harni flowing from the Charities purposes and there was no private b¢nefit.
