Trusteeg Annual Report for the year ended 31xt De￿rnber 2022 The Trustees present the Annual Report and statements of Receipts and Payments and Assets and Liabilttie5 for Derryvullen North Parish Church for the year ended 314 December 2022 Objeaives and Activities The charitable purpose of the Church of Ireland is the advancement of religion. The prlncipal function of Derryvullen North Parish Church is to support the advancement of the Christian religion by promoting, through the work of Derryvullen North Parish Church the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. Being open to and engaging with society as a whole, and offering support for those needing help are fundamental to the practical delivery of the beneffts of Christianity. The objective of our Parish is to advance the mission of the Christian Church, through worship. service, and fellowship. These objectives are carried out through mission and pastoral activities. The principal activities of the Church are public worship and the spiritual development of its members. In carrying out its objectfves the Church depends upon the contribution, both human and material, of many volunteers from the parishioners. Activities carried out include contributions preparatory to and durin8 worship, service on the Select Vestry and throu8h 8roup activities, the maintenance of premises and fabric, and a varlety of pastoral and social activities. These contributions are all highly valued and all members of the congregation are encouraged to. and many do, participate in them. A5 a result of activity in the pursuit of the advancement of the Christian reli8ion, Derryvullen North Parish Church has custody of property and of records, materials and artefacts of significance to the cultural and religious herltage and maintenance of which is undertaken by the select vestry of Derryvullen North Parish Church Achlevements. Perforniano & Public Bénefft The Parish has given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefrt to ensure that the activities entered into during the year have helped to achieve the Parish's objective5 and activities, as well as providing public benefrt. Derryvullen North Parish Church fulfils its objectives through the weekly Sunday 5ervices- includin8 Holy Communion, Morning Prayer lin both formal and more informal versions), and Services of the Word. Services are led by the Incumbent with the support of a Parish Reader as well as a group of Parishioners who assist with Readings and occasionally Intercessions. A dedicated and skilful group of people decorate the sanctuary each week and this helps enhance the space and time together. The Parish offers pastoral care and support where possible to all associated with the Parish and who wish to avail of it. This includes onEoing pastoral care and also special support linked with crises or pastoral emergency. In all of this the Incumbent is assisted by a Diocesan Pastoral Assistant. Pastoral Care is carried out through home visits. h05Pital and

nursing home visit as well as the administration of Holy Communion to the sick. elderly and housebound. The Parish offers liturgical and pastoral support through the Occasional Offices- baptism. confirmation, marriage. ministry to the sick, burial of the dead. There is a very active Sunday School in the Parish that currently has 46 on the roll. As well as being part of the Sunday School. the young people also make specific contributions to the many services throughout the year. There is also an annual Children's Day Celebration Service and also a markins of Mothering Sunday and Fathers, Day. An important element of the ministry of the Sunday School is helpin8 coordinate the collertion of gifts for a local Food Bank. The major festivals of the Litur8ical Year are observed and celebrated including: Harvest. Christmas, Easter and Remembrance Day. Highlights of these occasions are the Harvest Thanksgiving with the abundant decorations and the Sunday evening Harvest Supper. The Midnight Celebration of Holy Communion at Christmas is also a very popular and well loved Service. There are also the followin8 8roup5: Boys, Brigade, Bowling Club, Choir, Walkin8 Groupi Caterin8 Group and, in conjunction with the parlsh of Castle Archdale, the Mothers, Union and also a Women's Group. These offer a variety of social occasions and opportunitles for ministry and service in the course of the year. A specific role of one of the Motherfs Union office holders Is to be a support to those members who are housebound. A new 8roup forthe church and communitythat has been established this past year is the Craft Group, meetlng weekly for most of the year in the parish centre, Irvinestown. This brin8S tO8ether people to enjoy their craft work in a context of friendship and conversation. The monthly Shoppers, Service continues in the parish centre and it also provldes a space for friendship and conversation. The Parish is also represented in the wider community by the involvement of the Rector as a member of the Board of Governors of the local Ilrvine5town) Primary school. He also regularly leads assemblies in the School Going Concern The trustees have reviewed the budgets for the year ahead and are satisfied that there are adequate funds in place to ensure that the Parish can continue Ft5 activities and the financial statements for the year end 2022 can be Signed off as a goin8 COn￿M Structure. Governance and Management Governing Document and Constitution of the Charity Chapter111 of the Constitution of the Church of Ireland governs Parishes and Par(Khial Organi5ation. The Select Vestry members are the Charity Trustees

Re¢Yuftment aNI Appolntment of Selert Vestry All members of the ch￿￿h of I￿land who are over the age of 18 and are either resident within the parish or live elsewhere but have been accustomed members of the congregation for at least three months, may register as members of the general vestry of the parish, allowing them to attend and vote at meetings of the general vestry and to stand for election to the select vestry. Meetings of the general vestry are held at least ono per annum. The Select Vestry is elected as part of this General Vestry meeting. The Select Vestry will hold their positions for a peTiod of one year. Select Vestry members may be re*lerted annually and there is no limit on the number of terms which may be sepied. Payment and remuneration The Incumbent selves both Derryvullen North Parish and Derryvullen North as a grouped Cure and receives a stipend, office and locomotory allowances in accordance with figures approved by the General Synod of the Church of Ireland. Organlsatlonal Structure The select vestry is responsible for the day to day manaBement of the parish. The select vestry consists of the member of the clergy serving in the parish, the churchwardens. the glebe wardens and generally not more than twefve other members of the general vestry elerted at the Annual General Vestry. The select vestry is chabred by the incumbent or other member of the clergy officlating in the parlsh. Select vestry members are responsible for making decisions on matters of general concern and importance to the parish includin8 deciding how parish fvnds are to be applied. The Select Vestry meets at times fixed by the members or by the dI0￿$an synod.

Ikcember 2022 l Accounting Policies Set out below are the principal accounting policies which have been adopted in the compilation of the Receipts and Payments Account and Statement of Assets and Liabilities. (a) Receipts and Payments Account All Items of income and expendtture included within the receipts and payments account have been accounted for on a cash reeeipt basis- (b) Ststement of Assets and Liabilities (i) Assets retained for the Parish's own use The ass¢ts of the Parish, retain¢d for its own use comprise of :_ Church Building and Grnveyard Glebe House l Rectory Church Hall Parish Centre The Church Building and Graveyard are deemed to be Heritage assets as defined by the Charities SORP (FRS 102) These Heritage a$￿ts are not included in the statement of assets and liabilities as inforniation on the cost or valuation is not available and such Anforn)atAon cannot be obtained at a cost commensurate with the benefit to the users of the accounts and to the Parish. The Rertory is recognised at cost I deemed COSL being the estimated fair value of the property at £458,146. No depreciation has been provided on the Rectory as the current estimated residual value is not less than its Ca￿Ing value and the remaining useful life currently cxc¢¢ds 50 years. Church Hall Is recognised at cost of construction l acquisition. No depreciation has been provided on the Church Hall building5 as the current estimated residual value is not less than its carrying value and the remaining useful life exceeds 50 years. Parish Centre Is recognised at cost of construction l acquisition. No depreciation has been provided on the Parish Centre buildings as the current estimated ￿sidUal value is not less than its carrying valuc and the rcmaining useful lif¢ currently ¢xc¢eds 50 years. (li) Investnients Fixed asset investments comprising Bequests, Representative Church Body (RCB), Church of Ireland Truste¢s Investments are initially recorded at ci)st and are then subsequently stated at fair value at each y￿r end date.
