The Trustees present the annual report and statements of Receipts and Payments and Assets and
Liabilities for Colaghty Parish Church for the year ended 31 December 2024.
Objectives and Activities
The charitable purpose of the Church of Ir¢land is the advancem¢nt of religion.
The principal function of Colaghty Parish Church is to support th¢ advancement of the Christian
religion by promoting, through the work of Colaghty Parish Church the whole mission of the Church.
pastornl, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. Being open to and engaging with society. as a whole and
offering support for those needing help are fundamental to the practical delivery of the benefits of
Christianity.
As a result of activity in the pursuit of th¢ advancement of the Christian religion. Colaghty Parish
Church has custody of property and of records, materials and artefacts of significan¢¢ to the cultural
and religious heritage and maintenanc¢ of which is undertaken by the Select Vesty of Colaghty Parish
Church.
Achievements, Performance & Public Benefit
The Parish's activities are governed mostly by the churches year and as such, Colaghty Parish Church
seeks to fulfil its purposes in the support and advancement of the Christian religion through weekly
services. inclusive of Holy Communion, Morning Prayer. Family Services, ContempoTary worship.
additional services (evening) and those of the Church's calendar year at East¢r, Harvest and Christmas.
Pastoral care and assistance continue throughout the year and is offered to all within the parish family
and those within the parish boundary, in fulfilment of its mission and calling. This is further enriched
with the various church organisations and activities that take place throughout the year.
Those groups consist of Bible Fellowship, Sunday School, CE, Youth Group, and continue to provide
opportunity for worship, fellowship, and teaching as an integral part of its support and advancement of
the Christian religion. The above groups meet regu]arly throughout the year providing opportunitics
for everyone to avail off.
Women's Fellowship meeting from October to May each year, provides opportunities for ladies frorn
within the church and cornmunity to share togeth¢r each month, with a range of speakers and topics
that are relevant to everyday cxperiences. and from a faith perspective. Colaghty Bowling club
encourages an intergenerational mix of abilities from throughout the wider community. It offers play
both at local and competition level and has taken part in the churches league in 2024. This outreach
h&8 seen new members joining in the last year.
The Young at Heart group offers opportunities for the over 55's from within the church and the wider
community, and has put on a range of activities, from games, and speakers. This together with monthly
meetings provides great opportunities for fellowship for many who ar¢ on their own.

Additiona] interaction and outreach come through the parish auction and barbecue evening. Both
events afford the church family reaching out in more practical ways. As do individual members of the
parish family, including a few of tbe pres¢nt Trustees. who continue to be actively involved within the
wider community - serving on Boards of Governors, the Parent, TeAcher. Friends, Association and
IAck Community GTOUP. The hall has proved an asset to other groups within the communty who
make use of it when the need arises and it is available.
The parish regularly donates to missional projects and other charities. both locally and overseas and is
currently in partnership with Crosslinks in the prayerful and financial support to the parish mission
partners. The parish responds to emergency appeals channelling any moni¢s through reCo￿lS¢d
charities.
The Trnstees. (who have a responsibility for the upkeep of church propety. Church, Graveya
Rectory and Parish Hall), continue to exercise their stewardship by ensuting the necessary r¢medial
repairs to the SUTrounds of the parish church and rcctory aTe regularly Maintained. As part of that
stcwardship, the trustees address any necessary repairs as required to the hall, to ensure that all
facilities are welcoming, safe, and usable by members and the wider public.
The activities mentioned above, provide evidence of how Colaghty Parish Church continues to
implement its charitable Purposes, th¢ advancement of religio￿ and meets th¢ Public Benefit
requirement.
Colaghty Parish Church, with the guidance of the Church of Ireland Repres¢ntstive Church Body, and
the Diocese of Clogher on infornvation received thus far, has through the Church of Ireland
Safeguarding Trust. (Children & Adult) sought to mitigate the potential for harn] from its activities.
The parish has undertakerL through guidance and direction from infonnation supplied by the Church of
Ireland Representative Body. and the Diocese of Clogher to implement GDPR in accordance with
current legislative requirements.
Financial Review
The principal source of income of Colaghty Parish Church continues to be from Donations and
Plate Collections.
The principal expense of Colaghty Parish Church is in respect of payments regarding Dioc¢san
CostslAssessm¢nt.
Colaghty Parish Church had an exces5 Of receipts over payments of £7,188.00 for the year ended 31
December 2024.
Colaghty PaTish Church continues to be in a healthy fmancial state as at 31 Dec¢mber 2024 with
total cash funds of £126,085.13.
Colaghty Parish Church aims to retain sufficient reserves to meet its expected future expenditure
requirements as well as potential future capitsl projects.

Going Concern
The trustees have reviewed its planned expenditure for the year ahead and are satisfied that there are
adequate fimds in place to ensure that the Parish can continue its activities and the financial ststem¢nts
for the year ended 31 December 2024 can be signed off as a going concern.
Structhre. Governance and Management
Governing Document and Constithtion ofthe ChArity
Chapter Ill of the Constitution of th¢ Church of Ireland governs Parishes and Parochial Organisation.
The Select Vesty members are the Charity Trustees.
Recruitment andAppointmen¢ ofselect Vesty (Tr￿￿e¢s)
All mernbers of the Church of Ireland who are over the ag¢ of 18 and are either resident within the
Parish or live elsewhere but have been accustomed members of the congregation for at least three
months. may register as members of the General Vesty of the Parish, allowing them to attend and vote
at meetings of the General Vesty and to stsnd for election to the Select Vesty. Meetings of the
General Vesty are held at l¢ast once a year. The Select Vesty is elected as part of this General Vesty
meeting. The Select Vesty will hold their positions for a period of one year. Select Vesty members
may be re-elected annually and there is no limit on the number of terns, which may be served.
Organisational Strueftire
The Select Vesty is responsible for the day to day management of the Parish. Th¢ Select Vesty
consists of the member of the clergy serving in the Parish, the Churchwardens, the Glebewardens and
generally not more than twelve other members of the General Vesty elected at the General Vestry.
The Select Vesty is chaired by th¢ Incumbent or other member of the clergy officiating in the Parish.
Select Vesty memb¢rs are responsible for making decisions on matters of general concern and
irnportance to the Parish including deciding how Parish funds are to be applied.
The Select Vesty meets at tirnes fixed by the members or by the Diocesan Synod. Special meetings
may be convened at any time by the Chairperson or the Churchwardens. In 2024 the Select Vesty met
5 times during the year and the average attendance was 73 %.
Compliance with Public Benef
The Parish has given careful consideration to the Charity Con)mission for Northern Ireland's guidance
on public benefit to ensure that the actives entered into during the year have helped to achieve the
Parish's objectives and activities, as well as providing public benefit.
Statement of Trusteesl Responslbilities
The Trustees are responsible for prepaTing the Trustees. Report and the statement of receipts and
payments and stst¢ment of assets and liabilities in accordance with applicable law and regulations.

The law applicable to charities in Northern Ireland with Income of less than £250,000 requires the
Trustees to prepare a statement of receipts and payments and a statement of assets and liabilities for
ch financial year.
The Trustees are responsible for ke¢ping accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the
Parish's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the assets and liabilities of the
Parish. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Parish and hence for taking
reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
