Objeetives and Activities The charitable pUoSe of the Church of Ireland is the advancement of religion. The principal function of Colaghty Parish Church is to support the advancement of the Christian religion by promoting, through the work of Colaghty Parish Church the whol¢ mission of the Church. pastoral. evangelistic. social and ecumenical. Being open to and engaging with society. as a whole and offering support for those needing help aT¢ fimdamental to the practical delivery of the benefits of Christianity. As a result of activity in the pursuit of the advancement of the Christian religion, Colaghty Parish Church has custody of Propety and of recoTds, matfflals and artefacts of significance to the ctra] and religious h¢ritage and maintenance of which is undertaken by the Select Vesty of Colaghty Parish Church. AchlevemeDts, Performance & Public Benefit The Parish's activities are governed mostly by the churches year and as such, Colaghty Parish Church seeks to fulfil its pury)oses in the 5UPPOrt and advancement of the Christian religion through weekly services, inclusive of Holy Communion, Morning PrayeT, Family Services, Contemporary worship, additional services (evening) and those of the Church's calendar year at Easter, Harvest and Christmas. Throughout the y¢ar, pastoral care and assistance continu¢, offered to all within the parish family and those within the parish boundary, as the parish fulfils ils mission calling. This is further enhanced with the vaTiOUS church organisations and a1VItieS that take place throughout the year. These groups include, but exhaustive to, that of Bible Fellowship* Sunday School, CE, Youth Group, continue to provide opportunity for worship, fellowship, and teaching as an integral part of its support and advancernent of the Christian religion. The above Up$ meet regularly throughout the year providing opportunitics for everyone to avail off. The monthly Women's Fellowship provides opportunities for ladies from within the Church and community to share together each month. with a range of speakers and topics that aT¢ relevant to everyday experiences. Colaghty Bowling club encourages an intergenerational mix of abilities frorn throughout the widcr community. It offers play both at local and competition 1cl and has takcn part in the Churches league in 2023. This outreach has seen new members joining in the last year. The Young at Heart group. which calers for th¢ over 55's from within the church and the wider community, has put on a range of activities. from games. and speakers. This together with its monthly meetings provides great opportunities for fellowship for many who are on their own. Page 2

Both events afford the Church family reaching out in more practical ways. As do individual members of the parish farnily, including a few of the present Trustees. who continue to be actively involved within the wider community - serving on Boards of Governors, the Parent, Teacher, Friends, Association and Lack Community Group. The parish regularly donates to rnissional projects and other charities, both locally and overseas and is CUentlY in paTtnership with Crosslinks in the prayerful and financial support to th¢ parish mission partners. The parith responiLq to emergency appeals channelling any monies through recognised harities. The Trust¢es' (who have a responsibility for the upkeep of Churcb propety. Church, Graveyar Rectory and PaTish Hall), continue to exercise their Stewardship by ensuring the necessary r¢medial repairs to the surrounds of the parish Church and rectory are regularly maintained. As part of that stewardship, the trnstees address any necessary repairs as required, to ensure that all facilities ar¢ welcoming, safe, and usable by members and the wider public. The activities mentioned above, provide evidenc¢ of how Colaghty Parish Church continues to implement its charitable purposes, the advancement of religio and meets the Public Benefit requirement. Colaghty Parish Church, with the guidance of the Church of Ireland and the Diocese of Clogher on inforniation Teceived thus far, has through the Church of Ireland Safeguarding TrusL and Adult Safeguarding, sought to mitigate the potential for bann from its activities. The parish has undertaken, through guidance and direction from infomydtion supplied by the Church of Ireland and the Diocese of Clogher to implement GDPR in accordanGe with current legislative requirements. Flnaneial Review The principal source of income of Colaghty Parish Church continues to be from Donations and Plate Collections. The principal expense of Colaghty Parish Church is in respect of payments regarding Diocesan c0sASSesSMent. Colaghty Parish Church had an excess of receipts over payments of £5,928.88 for the year ended 31 December 2023. Colaghty Parish Church continues to be in a healthy financial state as at 31 December 2023 with total cash funds of £118,897.13. Colaghty Parish Church aims to retain sufficient reseTves to meet its expected future expenditure requirements as well as potential future capital projects. Page 3
Trustees, Annual Report for the year ended 31 December 2023 (continued) Going Concern The tsustees have reviewed its planned expenditur¢ for the year ahead and are satisfied that there are adequate funds in place to ensure that the Parish Can continue its activities and the financial ststements for the year end¢d 31 December 2023 can be signed off as a going concern. StrUcr Governance and Mauagement Governing Documenl and Constitutlon of¢he Charlty Chapter Ilt of the Constitution of the Church of Ireland governs Parishes and Parochial Organisation. The Select Vesty members are the Charity Trustees. Recruitment andAppoinlment ofselect Yesty (Truslees) All m¢mbers of the Church of Ireland who are over the age of 18 and are either resident within the Parish or live elsewhere but have been cuStoMed mernbers of the congregation for at least three months, may register as members of the General Vesty of the Parish, allowing them to attend and vote at meetings of the General Vesty and to stsnd for election to the Select Vesty. Meetings of the General Vesty are held at least once a year. The Select Vesty is elected as part of this General Vestry meeting. The Select Vesty will hold their positions for a period of one year. Select Vesty members May be re-elected annually and there is no limit on the number of tern, which may be served. Organisational Struciure The Select V¢sty is responsible for the day to day management of the Parish. The Select Vesty consists of the member of the clergy serving in the Parish, the Churchwardens, the Glebewardens and generally not more than twelve other members of the General Vesty elected at th¢ General Vestry. The Select Vesty is chaired by the Incumbent or other member of the clergy officiating in the Parish. Select Vesty members are responsible for making decisions on matters of general concern and importance to the Parish including deciding how Parish funds are to be applied. The Select Vesty meets at times fix by the members or by the Diocesan Synod. Special meetings may be convened at any time by the chairperson or the Churchwarda. In 2023 the Select Vesty met 7 times during the y¢ar and the average attendance was 71 ts/0. Complidnce wilh Public Benef The Parish has given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefit to ensure that the actives entered into during the year have helped to achieve the Parish's objectives and activities, as well as providing public benefit. Statement of Trusteesl Responslbilitles The Trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees, Report and the statement of receipts and payments and statement of assets and liabilities in accordance with applicable law and regulations. Trnstees, Annual Report for the year ended 31 December 2023 (continued) Statement of Trusteesl Responslbilities (continued) The law applicable to charities in Northern Ireland with Income of less than £250.000 requires the Trustees to prepare a statement of receipts and payments and a stat¢ment of assets and12abilities for each financial year. The Trustees are responsible for keeping coUntIng records that are sufficient to show and explain the Parish's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the assets and liabilities of the Pish. They are also r¢sponsible for safeguarding the assets of the Parish and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and oth¢r irregularities.
