A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year
There were 16 members registered this year. We are still adjusting after Covid and rebuilding our unit into the usual routine. We had 4 new members join and complete pre-enrolment activities and making their promise at a campfire and magic games night.
This year we have been working on one of the guiding themes; Skills for my future which included skill builder Live Smart stage 3 where the girls had to complete 5 activities along with unit meeting activities and an interest badge. The girls all successfully achieved this.
The unit also completed activities such as, ready steady cook and craft to celebrate events, such as Remembrance Day, Christmas, thinking day, Mother’s Day etc. We also took part in special activities leading up to King Charles Coronation, which the girls gained a commemorative badge.
We had 2 activities away from our usual meeting place – The Ulster Aviation society and a joint trip with the Rainbows to finish the guiding year off at Airtastic trampoline park.
We had our first guiding away trip since Covid with 11 girls and 4 Rangers. In Gosford Guide House for a long weekend at the end of June. The theme was guiding adventures.
2023 has been another good year for our unit building on normality and reconnecting with the girls as well as new girls coming to the unit.
There was no harm flowing from the Charities purposes and there was no private benefit.
