A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year
In the last year the girls were involved in completing their badge work and skill builders, covering aspects such as guiding history, online safety and communication. The guides were able to take advantage of a grant from NICHI through Dunluce Guide House, which allowed the girls to attend a wellbeing event covering strategies to improve mental health and mindfulness. The leaders took part in safe space and first aid training; this was to ensure the safety of all the members of our unit.
We went to Lorne Estate - Girlguiding Ulster for our residential weekend. The girls hada great weekend. They took part in several different activities such as climbing and rafting. The weekend was a good bonding exercise for the girls and they faced some personal challenges along the way. Our unit also joined other units in the district for a trip to the cinema for Christmas. During the year the girls were involved in organising and running their activities and projects, this means the unit is in line with girlguiding values as a girl led organisation. There was no harm or private benefit flowing from the Charities purposes.
