BOHO PARISH CHURCH TRUSTEE'S ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31ST DECEMBER 2023 The Trustees present the annual report and statement of Receipts and Payments and Assets and liabilities for Boho Parish Church for the year ended 31 De¢¢mber 2023. Obje¢tives and Aelivities The Charitable puryose of the Church of Ireland is the advancement of religion. The principal function of Boho Parish Church is to supFKyrt the advancement of the Christian religion by promotAn& through the work of Boho Parish Church the whole mission of the ChurcK pastoral. evangelistic, social and ecumenical. B¢ing open to and engaging with society as a whole and offering support for those needing help are fundamental to the PTactical delivery of the benefits of Christianity. As a result of activity in the pursuit of the advancement of the Christian religion. the Boho Parish Church has custody of propety and of records. materials and artefacts of significance to the cultural and religious heritage and maintenance of which is undertaken by the s¢lect vesty of the Boho Parish Church. Achievements. Perforniance and Public BeDefrt 2023 saw the church stay open with a steady congregation throughout the year for people who enjoyed the worship and fellowship in meeting together. We had a joint fundraising concert with Devenish Parish this year in Devenish Church Hall. It was a very enjoyable evening, well supported and open to everyone. The Trustees have put in place policies lo protect anyone partaking in church activities and have a child protection poli¢y in place. The Parish has given care1 consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland guidance on public benefIt to ensure that the activities entered into during the year have hel to achieve the parlsh's objectives and activities. gs well as providing public benefit. Financial Review Our total incom¢ in the year came to £16.902 (2022: £17295). On the expenditure side we ended up spending a total of £13,821 {2022: £12.216). Trustees. Policy on Holding Reserves The Trustees have a policy of holding suificient unrestricted funds to cover three months overheads. Going Concern The Trustees have reviewed the budgets for the year ahead and are satisfied that there are adequate funds in place to ensure that the parish can continue its activities and the financial statement for th¢ year ended 31 De¢ember 2023 can be signed off as a going concern.

The Select Vesty membcrs are the Charity Trustees. Recrnitment and Appointment of Select Vutry (Trnstee5) All members of the Church of Ireland who are over the age of 18 and are either Sident within the parish 01 livc Clsewhere but have bn accustomed members of thc congregation for at least months. may register as members of the general vesty of the parish. allowing them to attend and vote at meetings of the general vestry and to stand for election to the select vesty. Meetings of the general vestry are held at least once a year. The select vestry is elected as part of this general vesty meeting. The select vestry will hold theiT lY)Sition5 for a period of one year. Select vestry members may be re-elected annually and there is no limit on the number of frrn]s which may be served. Diocesan Assment The Diocesan Assessment is £8.033. Organisational Structure The select vesty is responsible for the day-t(Fday management of the Parish. The select vestry ¢onsi5ts of the members of the ol¢rgy servicing in the parish, the church wardens, the glebe wardens and generally not more than twelve other members of the general vestry elected at the Easter vesty meeting. The select vesty is chaired by the incumbent or other members of the clergy officiating in the parish. Select vestry m¢mbers are responsible for making decisions on matt¢r5 of gencral concem and importance to thc parish including deciding how parish fvnds are to be applied. The select vestry meets at times fixed by members of the diocesan synod. Special meetings may be convened at any time by the ¢hairperson or the church wardens. In 2023 the select v¢sty met 4 times during the year and th¢ attendance wa5 750/tr. Compliance with Public Benefftt The Parish has given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on publi¢ benefjt to ensure that the activities entered into during the year have helped to achi¢ve the Parish's objectives and activities, as well as providtng public benefit. Ststement of Trustees. Responsibilities The Trustees are reS)nSIble for preparing the Trustees, Report and the statement of rec¢ipts and payments and statement of assets and liabilities in accordance with applicable law and regulations. The laws applicable to charities in Northern Ireland with income of less than £250,000 requires the trustees to prepare a statement of reIpts and payments and a statement of assets and liabilities for each financial year. The trustees &re responsible for keeping accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the Parish's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the assets and liabilities of the Parish. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Parish and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
