BASIS OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with applicable 8ccounting standards. While
compliance with Statement of Recommended Practice Accounting and Reporting by Charities IFRS1021 is not
mandatory account ofthe guidance contained therein has been taken In the preparation of these 8ccounts.
The financlal statements have been prepared un(Jerthe historical cosr convention except for inv8stment 88set8,
which ale shown at market value. The tinancial statemenis include all transactions. ass8tS. and liabiliiies forwhlch
the congregatlon is responslblé in18w. They do not include the accounts of church groups that owe their affiliation to
another body, nor those that are informal 8ath8rin8s of chuvch members.
FUND ACCOUNTING
Endowm8nt funds are funds, the cgpital of which must be retained either permanently or at the congregation'8
discr6tlon,' thè income derived f rom thè endowment is to be used either as restricted or unr6strlctèd Income funds
depending upon the purpose lorwhich the endowment was established in the first p18ce.
Restrlcted funds comprl$e lal In¢ome from endovrtnents which 1$ to be expended only on the restricted purp08es
Intended by the donor and Ibl revenue donations or grants for a specific congr8gation31 activity intended by the
donor. Where these funds have unspent balances, interest on their pooled inve8tment is apportioned to the

11. PENSION COSTS
Tho minister of the congregation is a m8mber of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland Pension Scheme120091. Thls is a
scheme operated by the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, a separate re8lStered ch8flty. The congregation pays an
assessment to the Presf)yterian Church in Ireland equivalent to the employer's pension contribution for the Scheme
and ba8e(i on the stipend paid to the minlster. The Presbyterian Church In Ireland Penslon Scheme120091 is a funded
Scheme of the define(J benefit typ8, provSdlng deflned r)enefits based on career average revalued s818ry. The Scheme
h8s assets held In a separately 8dminister8d fund manage(I by a board ol Trusteès. The Présbyteri8n Church and the
Scheme Trustees have agreed a funding plan to ensure the Scheme 18 8ufficientlyfunded to meet current and future
obligations. A formal schedule of contributions was drawn up on 25 November 2015 wherebythe Presbyteri8n
Church agreed to pay from 31 December 2015 contributions of 24% of pensionable salaries to coverthe accrual of
benetits for future servloe. expenses. the cost of insurlng death in seNice benefits and funding the scheme deficlt.
