The Klrk Sesslon
The charlty tfUStee5 of the congregation are the members of its Kirk Session. Under the congregation'5 governing
document, The Code, the book of the constltutlon and government of the Presbyierlan Church in Ireland, the Klrk Session
seeks to watch over and promote the spiritual interest of the con8re8ation and of persons not connected wlth any
congregation who are withln Its bounds. It ensures pastoral care Is In place In the Congregation and seeks to further thè
contrlbutlon of the Church to Christian witness and se￿iCe in the local community. The Kirk Sessions has delegated to its
Congregational CommÉttee the temporal affairs of the cong￿gatIon including admin15tering all funds and property
belonging to the congregation. Members of the Kirk Session are ex-officio members of the Congregational Commfrttee.
The Kirk Session conslsts of thè ordained mlnlster and the ruling elders of the con8re8ations. All members are entitled to
propose. speak and exercise equ31 votes at meetlngs, except that the Moderator. the ministers In actlve duty in the
congregation, has no dellberatSve but only a castlng vote.
Stated meetSn8s of the Kirk session a￿ held fwe times in each year.
To be chosen lor the offlce of the eldership in the congregation a person must be a votlng member and a regular attendant
on Its ordlnances. The sele¢tlort of those proposed to be called to the offio can be elther by the congregation or by the
Klrk Sesslon. Members are elerted If they obtain two-thlrds of those vote.
Presbytery
Under the Piesbyterian Church In Ireland form of governance the corporate r)versight of a congregatlon Is the
re5ponslblllty of a Presbytery which superlntends generally the spiritual and temporal affalrs of the congregations asslgned
to It by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. Ballee congregation of the Presbyterlan Church has
been assl8ned to the 8allymena P￿$bytery of the Presbyterlan Church In Ireland. The membership of the Presbytery
consists maSnly of the active rninisters of congregatlons ass18ned to It by the General Assembly, mlnsters who have retired
from actlve duty and an elder appolnted by the Klrk Sessbon of the congregatlon.
The General Assembly
The General A55embly Is the supreme court of the Church, representing in one body the whole Church and actin8 as its
supreme le8islatlve, admlnlstration and judicial authorlty, In dealing with all matters brought before it. The Gene131
Assembly is normally constituted during thè first week in June for worshlp and to conduct its bu5ine55. At the end of
business. it is di5501ved. The membershlp of the General Assembly conslsts mainly of the active ministers of each
congregation, retired minsters and a representstlve elder appolnted by the Kirk Session of each congregatlon.

The con8regatlon meets for worshlp every Sunday and visltor5 are welcome to loin. The Sacrament of the Lords Suppèr Is
observed on several occaslons during the year and all those who have been baptlsed and who have made a professlon of
faith in the Lord Jesus Christ are admitted to the Lord's Supper.

The congre8atlon normally meets for worshlp each Sunday at 11.'30am and once a month at 6:30pm. The mld- week
mèetlngs, Thursday ot 10:00am & 7..00pm. provldes an opportunlty for members to meet togethe¥ for fellowship. to study
the scrlptures and for a time of prayer.
At 31 December 2023 there were 83 communlcant members. and 115 famllles connected with the congregations. The
average week attendance at morning woiship Is SO.
Care & Share (Pastoral carel
Members of the congregatlon who are unable to attend church due to slckness or age are vlsitèd regularly by the mlnlster,
Èlders andlor by one of our Care & Share group. ca￿ & Share is a pastoral support ser¥ke offered by members of the
congregation. Everyone Involved Is a volunteer who Is willing to help Individuals at a tlme when they need a little extra
help and support. Care & Share aim to help in whatever way they can In whatever clrcumstances they can. Work done bv

At a local level. the congregatlon seeks to reach outto and to be involved in the Ilves of the wider communlty. We seek to

The con8regatlon supports the Unlted Appeal for Mlssion whlch Is a tentral fund of the PresbytÈrian Church in Ireland. This
fund enables congregations to SUPPOrt the wider mSssion of the denominatlon and to do mlsslon and outreach on a
denominational basis beyond what the congregation could do on Its own. The Unlted Appeal Fund provides financlal
support for mission personnel at home and overseas. assists congregatlons wlth the deployment of locally based staff,
enables church planting. provldes grant support for the upkeep of church premlses, assist with the iunnin8 COSt5 of Union
Theologlcal College, the Church's training college for minlstry students. and financially supports con8regation in the areas
of worshlp. dlsciple5hip, global misslon, outreach, leadership and pastoral Care.
The congregatlon also contrlbutes to speclal appeals made by our denomiftation.
Presbytery
The congre8atlon was represented at the regular meetin8$ of Presbytery by one of the elders. ThSs provides an Important
link between the congregatlons and the wlder strurtures of the church.
General Assembly
One of our elders were nomlnated to attend the meetln8 of the General Assembly of the Presbyteylan Church in Ireland
held In Assembly Bulldlngs, BelfasL In June.

PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT
The Presbyterlan Church In Ireland meetsthe public benefit requirement by providing benefit to its members and the general
public by maklng known the Christian Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ through the advancement of reli8ion.
The direct benefrts which flow from the purposes of the Church include the galning of an understanding In Chrlstian bellefs
as set out in the Bible and in the Church's subordinate standards Ithe Westmlnster Confession of Faith and the Shorter and
Larger Catechisms) leading to spirltual and moral development ond opportunities for response to Blble teaching. In turn, this
framework leads to prattical expressions of Christian beliefs and standards In the local communlty such as through the care
of those in need Ilncluding the slck. disabled, and bereavedl.
Genefally, the above benefSts are delivered locally by con8regations and thelr members or are facilitated through
presbyterSes or are organised and dellvered centrally. Local delivery is facllitated by central resources in almost all cases.
Publlc èccess is made known through the use of notteboards. prlnted material, press advertlsement, websltes. and soclal
media or In other ways.
The benefits are demonstrated through regular evaluation of the servlces and Informal and ad-hoc feedback from
membefs. thelr famllles, and members of the pub15c.
The purpose doe5 not lead to harm. The only private beneflt flowing from our purpose is related to Ministers, Misslonaries,
Deaconesses. Irish Mlsslon workers and Lay Agents who receive benellts as a result of their holdln8 office or employment.
However, thls is incidental ané necessary In older to further our charitsble purpose. There are no other private benefits.
The beneflclarles of thls purpose are members, rheir families. Other Individuals that the Presbyteilan Church in Ireland is In
direct and Indlrect contact with, the communlty In whbch pastoral seNices are provided and other communitle5 throughout
Northern Ireland, the Republlc of Ireland. and worldwide which beneflt from our engagement with and support for both
Christian and other secular or8an15atlons. charities, and indlvidual members of the public.
The Trustees have taken re8ard of the Charity Commlsslons Public beneflt requlrement statutory guidance.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The congregatlon's maln source of Income is Members. contrlbutlons through the Weekly Freewill offerlng. There were 94
contrlbutors durin8 the year12022: 1101 donating a total of £36.27012022: £38,927)
Total Income of the congregatlon during the year was £55.736 compared to £58,253 in the prevlous year.
Total expendlture decreased from £45,709 in 2022 to £38,462 In 2023.
STATEMENT OF TRUSTEE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Tnjstees arè responslble for preparing the annual report and the finan¢lal statements of the congregatlon in accordance
with applicable law and generally accepted accounting practice.
As the congregation's total Income does not exceed £250.Crf)O, the Trustees have elected under Section 64131 of the Chaiities
Act (Northein Ireland) 2008 to prepare a recelpts and payment account and a ststement of assets and liabilities.
The Trustees are responsible for keeplng adeq¥Jate accountlng records that are sufflclent to show and explaln the
con8re8ation's transartions and dlsclose with reasonable accuracyèt any time itsflnancial position. They are also responsible
for safeguarding the assets of the congregatlon and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of
fraud and other irregu13ritles.
