STRUCTURE AND MANAGEMENT
The Klrk Session
The charlty trustee5 of the congregation are the rnÈmbers of Its Kirk Sesslon. Under the congregatlon's governing
documenL The Code. the book of thÈ constltution and Eovernment of the Presbyterlan Church In Ireland. the Klrk Session
seek5 to watch over and promote the spiritual Interest of the congregatlon and of persons not connected with any
ongTe8atlon who are wlthln its bounds. It ensures pastoral care is in place In the congregation and seeks to further the
contribution of the Church to Christlan witness and service in the local communlty. The Klrk 5e55ions has delegated to Its
Congregatlonal Commlttee the temporal affalrs of the Congregatlon includlng administerlng all funds and property
belonglng to the congregation. Members of the Klrk Sesslon are ex4>fficlo members of the Congre8atlonal Committee.
The Klrk Sesslon consists of the ordalned minister and the ruling elders of the con8règation5. All members are entltled to
propose, speaL and exerclse equal votes at meetln8s, ex￿pt that the Moderator. the mlnlsters in actlve duty in the
cong￿￿atIon, has no dellberative but onty a castln8 vots.
Stated meetings of the Kirk se$slon are held flve tlmes In each year.
To be chosen for the office of the eldershlp In the congregatlon a person must be a votlng member and a regular attendant
on its ordlnances. The Selection of those proposed to be called to the office can be elther by the congregatlot) or by the
Klrk Session. Members are elected rf they obtain two-thlrds of those who vote.
Presbytery
Under the Presbyterian Church In Ireland form of 8overnance the corporate oversight of a congregatlon Is the
responsibllity of a Presbytery whlch superlntends generally the spiritual and temporal affalr5 of the congregatlons asslgned
to Ft by the General Assemb￿ of the Presbyterlan Church in Ireland. Ballee congregatlon of the Presbyterian Church has
been asslgned to the Baltymena Presbytery of the Presbyterlan Cl￿TCh In I￿land. The membershSp of the Presbytery
consists malnly of the act5ve mlnlsters of con8re8atlons assl8nÈd to It by the Gener31 Assembly, minsters who have retired
from active duty and an elder appointed by the Kirk Session of the congregatlon.
The General Assembly
The General Assembly Is the supreme court of the Church. representlng In one body the whole Church and actlng as its
supreme le8islatfve. administratlon and judlclal authority. in deallng with all rnotter5 brought before It. The General
A55embly is normally const¢tuted durlng the flrst week in June for worshlp and to conduct its buslness. At the end of
buslness, it 5s dlssolvèd. The membership of the General Assembly conslsts mainly of the artlve minister5 of each
cong￿gatIon, retlred mlnsters and a representatlve elder appolnted by the Klrk Se5slon of each congregatlon.

The congregatlon meets for worship every Sunday and visltOTS are welcomè to joln. The Sacrament of the Lords Supper is
observed on several occa51ons during the yÈar and all those who have been baptlsed and who have made a profession of
falth In the Lord Jesu5 Chrlst are admitted to the Lords Supper.

Wor$hlp and prayer
The congregation normally meets for worship each Sunday at 11:30am and once a month èt 6-.30prn. The mld- week
meetings, Thursday at 10-00am & 8:00pm. provldes an opportunity for members to meet tO8ether for fellowshlp, to study
the scriptures and for a tlme of prayer.
At 31 December 2022 there were 84 communlcant members and 150 famllles connerted with the con8re8atlons. The
avera8e week attendance at mornln8 wor5hlp Is 50.
Care & Share {Po$toral care)
Members of the congregatlon who are unable to attend church due to slckness or age are vlslted ￿gularlY by the minlster,
elders andlor by one of our Care & Share group. Care & Share Is a pastoral support service offered by members of the
congregation. Everyone Invofved15 a volunteer who is wllllnz to help Indfvidua15 at a tlme when they need a Ilttle extra help
and 5UPPOrt. Care & Share alm to help In whatever way they cart in whatever circumstances they can. Work done by Care &
sha￿ includes:

At a local level, the congregation seeksto reach out to and to be involved in the Ilves of the wider community. We seek to
do this by encouragin8 every member of the conEregatlon to live out their lives in obedience to Chrlst as they Interact with
people on a daily basis.

wider community.
The con8regation supports the Uftited Appeal for Mlsslon whlch is a central fund of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. This
fund enables congre8ations to support the wider mlsslon of the denomination and trj do mlsslon and outreach on a
denomlnational basis beyond what the congregation could do on Its own. The United Appeal Fund provides flnancial
support for m1551on personnel at horne and overseas. assists con8regatlons with the deployment of locally based stsff.
enables church plantlng, provldes grant support for the upkeep of church prem15es. a55iSt wlth the runnlng tost5 of Unlon
Theological College, the Church's tralnlng college for mlnistry Students. and financlally supports congregation In the areas
of worshlp. dlsclpleshlp. global mlssion, outreach. leadershlp, and pastoral ca￿.
The congregatlon also contributes to SFeclal appeals made by our denominatlon.
Presbytery
The congregatlon wa5 repfesented at the regular meetlngs of Presbytery by one of the eldeis. This provldes an Important
Ilnk between the con8regatlons and the wlder stTUCtures of the church.
General Assembly
The m5nlster and one of our elders were nomlnated to attend the rneetlng of the General Assemb￿ of the Presbyterlan
Church In Ireland held In Assembly Buildings, BelfasL In June.

over many years by Rev Joseph And￿W5. Rev Andrews retired on 28 February 2022 after 35 years as the mlnlster of Ballee

However, this Is Incldental and nece$5ary In order to further our charttable Pufpose. There are no other prlvate benefits.

FINANCIAL REVIEW
The congregatlon's maln source of Income Is members, contributlons through the Weekly Freewlll Offerlng. There were 110
contributors durlng the year12021: 1171 donatln8 a total of £38,92712021: £45,269)
Total Income of the con8re8atlon durlng the year was £58,253 compared to £62,598 In the prevlous year.
Total expendSture decreased from £64.863 in 2021 to £45.709 In 2022.
STATEMENT OF TRUSTEE RESPONSIBILMES
The Trustees are responslble for preparing the annual report and the financial statements of the congregatlon Sn accordancè
with applicable law and generally accepted accountin8 practlce.
As the congregatlon's total incorne doe5 not exceed £250,000, the Trustees have elÈtted undersectlon 64131 of the Charities
Act (Northern Ireland) 2008 to prepore a receipts and payment account and a statement of assets and Ilabllltles.
The Trustee5 are responsible for keeping adequate xcounting records that are sufflclent to Show and explain the
congregation's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at anytime its financial position. They are also responsible
for safeguardlng the assets of the congregation and hence for taklng reasonable stÈps for the preventlon and detection of
fraud and other irregularitles.
