The princlpal function of Donacavey Church of Ireland Parish is to suppon the advancement of the Christian reliBion by promotin& through the work of Donacavey Church of Ireland. the whole mtssion of the Church, pastoral. evan&elistic, social and ecumenical. Bein8 open to and engaging with society a5 a whole and offertng sUPPOrt for those needing help are fundamental to the practical delivery of the benefit5 of Christianily. Donacavey Church of Ireland has custody of property and of fecord5. materials and artefacts of 516nificance to the cultural and reli8lOUs herirage and maintenance of which is undertaken by the select vestry of Donacavey Church of Ireland. Achievements. Pèrformance & Publit 8enefit Dtsnacavey Church of Ireland has weekly services on Sunday mornings comprising of a MIX of Holy Communion, Family Service5, 8aptism, Morning and Evenin8 Prayef. Compline. late Evening Office. the Litany with various other special services during the year e.8. Mafriage5. Funerals. Confirmation. Lenten, Harvest Thanksgivings. Advent and Christmas. Pastoral care is provided for parishioners and those in the wider cgmmunity. A range of other activities are provided by Donacavey Parish either by the church directly or through various church or8anisations e.g. Sunday School. Carers and Toddlers. Group, Mothers, Union, and a range of children's groups includin8 Girls Friendly Society. Other groups regularly hire rhe church parish center for Bowls. Wornen's Institute and Auctions. The parish hall is given free of char8e to all children's groltps and also the Sentor Citizens. The Parish has a well Organised and enthvsiastic catering committee who provide funeral teas and refreshments after special services. In general. the carefing committee use their PToceeds to help mainrain and Improve the Parish Hall. The catering committee also provided a harvest supper during the harvest celebrations and refreshments durin8 rhe parish sale and auction. A number of parishioners seThe on ihe Board of Governors of the local primary school and the Rector leads assemblies on a regular basis. The activities outlined above demonstrate how Donacavey Partsh continues to implement its charitable purposes li.e. the advancement of religignl and meeis the Public Benefit fequirement by providing the Parish Hall free of charge to local eomrnunity groups. contributinB to the spirttual well-bein8 of participants and Ihe reinforcement of Christian values. The Trustees have put in place policies to protect anyone partakln8 In church aaivities and have implemented the Church of Ireland Safeguardin8 Trust Policv. The Parish has given careful consideratFon to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefit to ensure that the active5 entered into during the year have helped to achieve the Parish's tsbjective5 and activities. as well as providing public benefit.

The Select Vestry members are the Charity Trvstees. Recrultment and Appolntment olselert Vestry Ifmsteesj All members ol the Church of Ireland who are over the age of 18 and are either resident within the Parish or live elsewhere but have been accustomed member5 of the congregation for at least three months. may regisrer as members of the8eneral vestry of the parish. allowing them to attend and vote at meetings of the general vestry and to stand for election to the Select Vestry. Meerings of the general vestry are held once a year. The Select Vestry is eletted ès part of this General Vestry meetin8. The Select Vestry will hold their positions for a period of one year. Select Vestry members may be re-elected annually and there is no limit on the number of terms which may be served. Orgonlsotlonolstructure The Select Vestry is responsible for the day to day management of the Parish. Statement of Truslees, Re5ponsibtlities The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees. Annual Report and the Statement of Receipts and Payrnents and Statement of A55ets and Liabilities ir¢ accordance with applicable law and regulations. The law applicable to charities in Northern Ireland with Income le55 than £250.0 iequire5 the trustees to prepare a Statement of Receipts and Payments and a Statement of Assets and Liabilities for each financial year. The trustees are responsible for keeping accouniin8 record5 that are sufficient to show and explain the Parish's rransaction5 and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the assets and lièbilitie5 of the Parish. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Parish and hence for taking reasonable Steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other iriegularities.
