Object*ves and A¢tivitie5
The charitable purpose ol the Church of Ireland is the advancement of religion.
The principal function of Donaeavey Church of Ireland Parish 15 to svpport the advancement of the Christian reli8ion bv
prornotin8, throu8h the work of Donacavey Church of Ireland. the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic,
social and ecumenical. Being opèn to and engaging with society as a whole and offering 5UPPOrt for those needing help
are lundèrnental to the practical delivery of the benefits of Christianity.
Donacavey Church ol Ireland has Custody of property and of records. materia15 and artefacts of significance to the cultural
nd religious heritage and maintenance of which is undertaken by the select vestry of Donacavey Church of Ireland.
Achievements, Performance & Publlc Benefrt
Donacavey Church of Ire￿and has weekly services on Sunday mornings cornprisine ol a mix of Holy Communion, Family
Sèrvices, Baptism, Morning and Eventng Prayer. Compline, Late Évenine Office. the Litany with various other special
services during the year e.g. Marria8es, Funera15. Confirmation, Lenten, Harvest Thank5givin8s, Advent and Christmas.
Pastoral care is prgvideil for parishioners and those in the wider community.
A range of other activities ale provided by Donacavey Parish either by the chvrch directly or through variou5 church
organ15ations e.g. Sunday School, Carers and Toddler5. Group. Mothers. Union, and a range of children's groups including
Girls Friendly Society. Other group5 regularly hire the church parish center for 8owls. Women's Institute and Auctions.
The parish hall is given free of charge to all children's groups and also the Senior Citizen5.
The Parish has a well organised and enthusiastic caiering committee who provide funeral teas and refreshments after
special serviee5. In general. the Catering committee use their proceeds to help mainiain and improve the Parish Hall. The
atering committee also provided a harvest supper durin8 the harvesi celebrations and rèfreshments during the parish
sale and auction. Proceeds from these fund-raising events went io general chuich funds.
A number of parishioners serye on the Board of Governors of the local prrmary School ond the Rector leads assemblies on
a regular basis.
The activities outlined above demonstrate how Donacavey Parish coniinues to implemènt it5 charitable purpose5 li.e. the
advancement ol reli8ionl and meets the Public Benefit requirement by providing the Parish Hall free of charge to local
communify groups. tontributing to thè spiritual well-being of parti¢ipant5 and the reinforcement of Christian values.
The Trustees have put in place policies to protert anyone partakin8 in church activities and have irnplemented the Church
ol Ireland Safeguarding Trust Policy.
The Parish has given careful consideration to the Chaflty Commi55ion for Northern Ireland's guidance on public benefit to
ensure rhat ihe aCt￿ve5 entered inio durin8 the year have helped to achieve the Parish's objectives and activities, as well
as providing p¥blic benefit.

Strutture, Governan¢e and Management
Governing Document und COnsti￿tiOn of the Chority
Chapter 111 of the Constitution of the Church of Ireland governs Parishe5 and Parochial Organisation. The Select Vestry
metnber5 are the Charlty Trustees.
Rerwitment and Appointment of Selert Vestry (Tw5teesJ
All members of the Church of Ireland who are ovèr the age of 18 and are eithèr resident within the Parish or live elsewhere
but have been accustomed members of the congregation for at least three months. may register as merrbers of thegeneral
vestry of the parish, allowing them to attend and vote at meetings of the general vestry and to stand for election to the
Select Vestry. Meetin85 of the general vestry are held once a year. The Select Vestry is elected as part of this General Vestry
meeting. The Select Vestry will hold their positlOll5 for a period ot one year. Select Vesiry members may be re-elected
annually and there is no limit on the nurnber of terms which may be served.
Oryontsotionulstrurture
The Select Vestry is responsiblè for the day to day management of the Parish. The Select Vesiry consists of the member
of the clergy serving in the Parish. any curate assistant l-the curate~I, the churchwardÈns, the glebe wardens and generally
not more than twelve other members of the general vestry elerted ai the General Vestry.
The Select Vestry is chaired by the incumbent or other member of ihe clergy officiating In the Parish. select vestry mernbers
are responsible for making dectsions on maiteis of general concern and importance to the Parish including deciding how
parish funds are to be applied.
The Select Vestry mee15 at times fixed by the members or by the diocesan synod. Special meetings may be convened at
any time by the chairperson or the churchwardens.

The Parish has g*ven careful consideration io the Charity Commi5sione¥ for Northern Irelantl's guidance on the public
benefit to ensure that the activities entered into during the year have helped to achieve the Parish's objectives and
activilies Os well as providin8 public benefit.
Statement of Tru5tees' Responsibilities
The trustees are responsible for preparing the Trustees. Annual Report and the Statement of Receipts and Payments and
Statement of A55ets and Liabilities In accordance wilh applicable law and regulations.
The law applicable to charities in Northefn Ireland with Income less ihan £250,CKX) requires the trustees to prepare a
Statement of Receipts and Payments and a Statement of Assets and Liabilities fof each financial year.
The trustees are iesponsible for keepin8 accounting records ihat arè sufficieni to show and Èxplain the Parish's
transactions and disclose wTrth reasonable accuracy at any time the assets and liabilities of the Parish. They are also
responsible for safeguarding the asset5 of the Parish and hence fof taking reasonable steps for the prevention and
detection of fraud and other irre8ularitie5.

Heritage assets are not included in the statement of assets and liabFlities as information on the cost or valuatlon 15 not
available and such information cannot be obtained at a cost commensurate with the benefit to the users of the accounts
and to the PaTlSh.
The Church Hall Is recognised at its approximate market value. The h311 has been leased from Clogher Diocesan Board of
Education for a pef*od of 99 year5. The current lease is duè to expire on I" January 2062.
The Glebe Hou5elRectory 13 recognised at deeme(I cost. being the capital value placed on the property for rates purposes.
No depTeciation has been provided on the Glebe House/Rectory as the cvrfent estimated residual value is not le55 than its
carrying value and the remaining useful life currently exceeds 50 years.
