ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basls of Flnanclal statements
The flnanclal statements have been prepared in accordance with Accounting and Reporting by
Charitie5.'Statements of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts
in accordance with Financlal Reportlng Standard applicable in the Ul( and Ireland IFRS1021
(effective l January 20151.
The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention except for
investment asset5, which are shown at market value. The financial statements include all
transactions, a55ets and liabilities for which the congregation is responsible in law. Thev
do not include the accounts of church groups that owe their affiliation to another body, nor
those that are informal gatherings of church members.
Fund Accounting
Restricted funds comprise revenue donations or grant5 for a specific congreEational activity ir>tended
by the donor. Where these funds have unspent balance, interest on their pooled investment is
apportioned to the individual funds on an average b3SIS.
Unrestricted funds are income funds which are to be spent on the congregation's general purposes.
Designated funds are general funds set aside by the congregation for use in the future.

to it. A5 of 31 December 2025, repayments of £61,000 have been made in line with the terrn5
nd conditlQn5 of the donors, leaving an outstaning balance of £116,000.

PENSION COSTS
The minister of the congregation is a member of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland Pension Scheme(2￿91.
This is 3 scheme operated by the Presbyterlan Church in Ireland, a separate regTrstered charity. The
congregation pay5 an a55e5srnent to the Presbyterian Church in Ireland equivalent to the employer's
pen51Dn contribution for the Scheme and based on the stipend paid to the minster. The Presbyterian
Church in Ireland Pension Scheme120091 is a funded Scheme of the defined benefit typE, providing
defined benefits based on career average revalued $8lary. The scheme has assets held in a separately
administered fund managed by a bDard ol trustees. The Presbyterlan Church and the S£herne Trustees
h3ve agreed a funding plan to ensure the Scheme 15 sufficiently funded to meet Cur￿￿1 and future
obligations. A forrnal schedule of contributions was drawn up on 25 November 2015 whereby
the Pr25byterian Church agreed tD pay frorn 31 December 2015 contrlbutions of 24% of pensionable
salaries to cover the accrual of benefits lor future service, expenses, the cost of insuring death in
service L7enefits and funding the Scheme deficit.

16 RELATED PARTY TRANSACTIONS
One of the trustees, the minister of the congregation received remuneration of £36,782 and
expenses of £8,475 for acting in that capacity. Pension contributions of £6,437 were paid by the
congregation in respect of the minister to the Presbyterian Church in Ireland Pension Scheme120091.
None of the other trustees received any remuneration or expenses during the year in
connection with their duties.
During the year the congregation contributed the following amounts to Furids of the General
Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland a separate charity.
£66,962 for congregational assessments
£7,600 towards the United Appeal
There were no other related party transactions.
