government of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, the Kirk Se5sitin seeks to watch over and
promote the Spiritual Interest of the congre8ation and of persons not connected T￿￿ any
COngre￿tIon who are within its bound5. It ensures pa5tofil care ￿ in place in the
congregation and seek5 to fvrther the contribution of the Church to chr￿lian witnes5 and
service in the local commvnity- The Kirk Sessron has delegated io its Congreeational
Committee the temporal affair5 irfthe con8Te8ation rncluding administering all funds and
property belon8inB to the con8reB3tion. Members of the Kiwksession areex-officio

grounded in the Scriptures and exists to love and honour God through faith in His Son and

The Kirk Session consists of the ordained minister and the rU￿Tr8 eldefs of the congregation.
All members are entitled to propose, speak and exerose equal votes at meetings. except

financial 5UPPOrt for rnission personnel at home and overseas. asslsts ¢ori8Te8ations with
the depl(ryment of lotalty based stth, enables church plantin8, provides grant support for
the vphÈp of church premises. as%5t with the running costs of Union Theological col￿Se,
the thurch'5 trdining col￿ge for ministry students, and financially supports congregation in
the areas of worship, discip￿ShIp. Blobal mission. outreach, leadershlp and pastoral care.
Durlng 2022 we have aimed to get otsrorganisatlons vp and runnin8 a8aln. The ￿ndaY
mornlng seivite has continued to be broadcast INe whlle our numbers ha￿ been up in
people attendln8.
The ton8re8ation rneets for worship every Sunday and visrtors are welcome to ioin. The
Sacrament of the Lord5 Supper is observed on several occasior15 during the year and all
those who have been bapli5ed and who have made a professlon of faith in the lord JegJs
Christ are adrnitted to the Lord'ssupper. The conyegation holds fe8ular bible study
meetings and ha5 a wide range of or£ani5ation5 including:_
Ourouweath to the local community 15 wide and varied including Pampered & Prepared
and The Holiday Btble Club which are two well estrdbli5hed annual events. Pampered and
Prepared has not restarted as yet but The Holiday Bible Club dxl rvn for a week in July.

The con8re83tlon meets for worshlp eath ￿l￿daY at 11.00am and 7.(KJpm alternate
Sundays. Durin8 the week the Bib￿ Studylsmall Groups provides an opportunity for
members to meet tO8ether for felkjwship, to study the striptvres and for a time of prdyer.
As well as our regular seNces If appllcable durin8the year we would acknowleLl8e God's
grft of new lrfe at the Sattament of Baptism, Iwe had no baptisms this yearl, we Bave thanks
for faithful sèrvices and sought to tomfort those who had been bereaved during the year.
At 31 Detember 2022 there were 204 ¢Lirnmunlcant membÈrs and 194 familie5 connerted
wlth the congregation.
The average weekfy attendante at morning worship wa$ 2￿.
The con8re8atitsn w35 represented atthe reBular meetln8s of Presbytery by Dur minister
and l or one of the eldÈrs. Th￿ provides an important link between ihe conBre8atlons and
the wlder stru¢tures of the church.
The rnini5ter and one of our eldÈrs were nominated to attend the meetin8 of ihe General
Assembty of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland held in Assembly Buildings, BelfasL in June.
Pastoral care
Members of the con8reKdtion who are unabk to attend churth dve to Sick￿$5 or aee are
vi&ted on a regular basis by the minister Iconvenor covering the vacancyl. elders or by one
of the congregation's pastoral visitors.
We continue to upkeep our church buildFng5 alon8 with the Manse and other small
properties.

The con8re8ation is svpportNe of loal Th*5slon through its invofvement in support of the
local Mission Hatl and input into the local Primary Schools. Throu8h the provi&on of

Member5 from ￿lla1& Moneydi& First Garvagh and Aghadowey Pwsioined us to hear
Brian's testrmony. The year WdS finished off in tktember with a Chri￿rna5 Social party ni8ht
whrch was oreanised jointly between Main Street Women Together and Killaig PW. A Breat
ni8hVs fun was had by all who attended. This wa5followed the nexl week with a delicious
Christmas Dinnerin the thurth hall.
Junior Bible aub
Junior Blble aub is a youth or8ani5atk)n aimed at thildren from Primary I to Primary 7. It Is held
in Main Street Church Hall every Mondayevening frorn Septernberto March.
Due to a lack of help coupled with a drop in number5. Junior Bible not phy&c￿￿ meet
in the hall thls year. Instead. children were 5upplled wtth att￿lty packs on a Wr￿thIY baYs and
these were 8lven out atchurch- those who did not attend church had their5 delivered to theFr
home. In total 21 children, from both Marn St zrKI Killalg presbyterian churches. t(M)k pa
Pack supplies each rnonth comprised of worksheets. craft resources or a gamelfun athty. and
snath andtreats. At Chrfstsnas the children ￿￿1VEd a selection box or wft each arKI also prlzes
and an egg at Easter. Also additional activities We￿ induded in Ortoter to provide the chI￿re￿
with something to do over half-terni. These Induded em craft resour￿$. ifleas for baklng aThJ

Pres. allowlng young people across PCI to joln together in a new way. We also had a board

May brings the start of èxam season for our youn8 ones and we provided a space for Study
and breakfast two mornin8S that month.
We had a trlp to Behst to see Rend Collertive, a Christian band. In June.
Three ni8hts In July we held an event for thè 14+ a8e 8roup ¢alled YOYO Involvi￿ food.

September starts our new term wlth new young peopleioining and we kKk off with a Dinner
dnder.
An e*ht-week series ran on Sunday nights- eath nyht had an episode from the Orrwns

Our Christmas events were Chilled Carols 3nd an outdoor thristsna5 at the manse.

Cafe link cvafters met fortni8htly with an attendance of 1>20 each meetlng. Members
enjoyed a varlety of craft projects as well as the e$5errtial cup of tea. TW supported several
tharrty Projects Including Trinity Care Home, Tearfund. Handmade with Love *or Premmle>
The Boys Brigade's objectNe ts the 'A￿ancernent of thrisys ￿n8doM amongst boys. Open
for boy5 from a8es S to 18 and we provlde a full program of attivities throughout the year
from September to April.
The company has cvrrenty 49 boys and 11 teaders.
During the current session we have met regularly and the boys have competed in BB
competitKJns at a local and national level.
We operate a comprehensrve bad8e avnrd 5VStem whereby boy5 can attain badges for
varrou5 activities throughout their BB journey and this culminates in the hi8he51 avrord of
the Qveen5 Badge.
We have awarded 4 Queen's Bad8es and 2 President's Badges this session to boys within
the company section.
We have a further4 Boy5 working towardstheir Queens Badge ne￿ yearand the bpys will
be invofved with Local Cornmunty proietLs durin8the summer months.

FIIIANCIAL REVIEW
The conBreEation's main source of income is members. contributions through the Wee
Freewill Offering. There We￿ 134familie5 who Contr￿luted dumgthe year donating a t¢rtal
of £75,362.

GOINGCONCERN
The artiwties of the congregation are dependent on on8oin8 contributions from its
rnembers. The Trustee5 are of the opinion that the congregatk)n has sufficient resourcesat
the date of approval of these finanaal statements to rneet commitments which will èrise in
the yearfiorn the date of si8ning this rem and subject to the continuin8 SUPPOrt from
members to fund on an ongoing basis the con8regation's current act￿lt￿5 and other
financial commitments.
RESERVES POLICY
The Tru5tee5 have considered the level of unrestricted re5eryes that It is approprlate to hold
taklng account of current and ongolng commitment& It is the pollcy of the Trustees to hold
at least one month's normal expenditure. At the year*nd unrestrirted reser￿$ were
£86,728 which represents a hl8her level of reserves. The Trustees. however, coftsld￿
prudent to hold reserves ¥t this level as the fvndthg of its present acti¥tlies is dependent on
the ongoing finanoal support of rnembers.
RISK REVIEW
A review of rnajar risks has been undertaken by the Trustee5 and systems and procedures
implemented to manage identrfied ri5k5. The principal risks a￿ rn relation to the likelihood
of reputational damage and financial risks asSOCBted woth the expectation of ongoing
financial supptsrt from members. These risks are rn￿gated by the Trustees. and the
Congregational Committee. regvlarly monitorin8 the various activitEs of the con8reBatM)n
at stated meetings and by encourèging members in their re8vlarwin8.
