Constitution
The PTA is governed by its constitution. We have adopted the model constitution provided by Parentkind.
All committee members must be appointed at the PTA Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Purposes
The purpose of Carnalridge PTA is to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by:
• developing effective relationships between staff, parents and other associated with the school
• engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support he school and advance the education of the pupils.
Public Benefit
Purpose 1 : Improved relationships between home and school. The benefit which flows from the purpose includes funding from additional resources for the school and links built with the local

community. This benefit is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support.
Purpose 2: Advancing the education of pupils at the school. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This benefit is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding.
Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes? No harm arises for either purpose
Who are the charity’s beneficiaries? The benefit is for the children at Carnalridge Primary School.
Is there any private benefit flowing from any of the purposes? Is it incidental and necessary?
Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries.

The PTA raised a total of £13,256.23 during the year through a range of fundraising
activities, donations, and parent contributions. Key sources included:

Notes:
-The PTA maintained healthy financial growth this year, increasing the balance by
£10,550.52.
- All funds raised are reinvested into school projects, events, and resources to
benefit pupils. Special thanks to all parents, staff, and donors who supported events and
contributed throughout the year.
Conclusion
In setting our objectives and planning our activities for the year, the trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the charity’s purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.
We confirm that we have no assets or liabilities and therefore have not submitted a statement of Assets and Liabilities in line with guidance.
