## Constitution 

The PTA is governed by its constitution. We have adopted the model constitution provided by Parentkind. 

All committee members must be appointed at the PTA Annual General Meeting (AGM) 

## Purposes 

The purpose of Carnalridge PTA is to advance the education of pupils in the school in particular by: 

• developing effective relationships between staff, parents and other associated with the school 

• engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support he school and advance the education of the pupils. 

## Public Beneft 

Purpose 1: Improved relationships between home and school. The benefit which flows from the purpose includes funding from additional resources for the school and links built with the local community. This benefit is demonstrated through having an active PTA that works in partnership with the school and engages parental support. 



Classification: Public 

Purpose 2 : Advancing the education of pupils at the school. The benefit which flows from this purpose includes increased educational progress and attainment of pupils in the school and links built with the local community. This benefit is demonstrated through pupils having access to resources, events, activities and links with the local community which are not available through direct school funding. 

Is there any harm arising from any of the purposes? No harm arises for either purpose 

Who are the charity’s beneficiaries? The benefit is for the children at Carnalridge Primary School. 

Is there any private beneft flowing from any of the purposes? Is it incidental and necessary? 

Charity trustees (PTA committee members) are usually also parents at the school which their children attend and hence gain benefit in the same way as all other beneficiaries. This benefit is incidental and necessary to ensure the benefit is provided to all beneficiaries. 

Main Activities for Fundraising – Contained in Treasurers report/ Accounts 

Treasurer Report 2023-24 for the Carnalridge Primary School PTA 

The PTA financial year ran from 1st September 2023 to 31st August 2024. Opening balance: 1st September 2023 £10,727.65 Closing balance: as of today 18 September 2024 £9,783.54 Total raised: £10,186.31 

Total spent: £11,130.42 

The PTA were able to make purchases for the school including, Whiteboards of (£8k) and a cheque for one of our Donut days in 23 for (£57.69) although fell in 2024 year end were discussed in 2023. Also (£100) Cinema day cheque cashed in our 2024 year end. Oving into 2024, the PTA covered the costs for Collins and AR totalling (£2,164.00) The children enjoyed 2 discos, Valentine’s and Christmas Disco. The DJ cost (£150) for both and the Valentines Tuck shop purchased sweets and drinks totalling (£24.55). Glow sticks and donuts purchased for Ditch the Dark at (£53.49). Also, further donuts purchased for dress down days cost (£31.05). Annual subscriptions for Lottery licence (£17.50) IRIS totalling (£75.60). Bank charges were (£38.00) and Parent Kind annual DD was (£153). Kiwis cinema day 2024 cost (£180). Juice, Tea & Coffee purchased for the School Nativities cost (£25.45). Finally, the Summer Fayre costings were (£60.09). This was for ice and squash (£6.64), (£2.50) for water, (£13.00) fruit shoots and (£37.95) cans. A further cheque and not yet cashed to date for Lynas expenses for our summer Fayre being, Tuck shop sweets, drinks, burgers, hot dogs and rolls for (£325.61) to be expenses from the PTA account. 

Income : Sources of gross income (before costs) were as follows. A very generous donation of closing funds £3,026.25 from Ridge Club. The Summer Fayre raised a staggering £1,945.00. 



Classification: Public 

The Northwest cark park lifted a huge amount this year totalling £1,188.65. Night at the Races earned £901.50. We received a bag of coins from last year’s Coin wars for £55.00. 

Non Uniforms and discos days, for Valentines and Christmas raised £423.03. Another big event organised was the colour run, which was enjoyed by the kids especially raised £1,641.95. Our Cinema day at Kiwis, between the tuck shop and sale of tickets raised £333.53. Half term donuts and further donut days raised £159.52. Parent pay lodgements £132.95 which I have to detail with Elaine. Ditch the dark day received £70. Class Fundraising £93.93. Easter non uniform day £45 and last day of tuck shop raised £170 

We confirm that we have no assets or liabilities and therefore have not submitted a statement of Assets and Liabilities in line with guidance. 

## Conclusion 

In setting our objectives and planning our activities for the year, the trustees have given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit to ensure that the activities have helped to achieve the charity’s purposes and provide a benefit to the beneficiaries.
