ACCOUNTING POLICIES
BASIS OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Whlle compllance wlth
Statement of Recommended Practlce Accountin8 and Reporting by Charltie5 IFR5102) 15 not mandatory. account of the
guidance contslned thereln has been taken In the preparation of these accounts.
The flnanclal statements have bÈÈn prepared under the hlstorlcal cost conventlon except for Investment assets, whlch are
shown at market value. The ftnanclal statements include all transactions. assets. and liabilities for which the congregatlon is
responsSble In law. They do not intrude the accounts of church groups that owe thelr affillatlon to another bodyi nor those
that are Informal gatherlngs of church members.
PREPARATION OF ACOUNTS ON A GOING CONCERN BASIS
Thè Church generally meets It5 day.to-day worklng capltal requlrements from Its annual Income. The Tru5tee5 have obtalned
and revlewed cash flow forecasts for the incoming year and based on these are satisfied that the Church has resources to
provlde a reasonable expectation that It can continue to meet its financlal obllgations as they fall due for the foreseeable
future. Therefore. these flnanclal ststements have been prepared on a 8olng concern basls.
FUND ACCOUNTING
Endowment funds are funds, the capttal of whlch must be retalned efther pemianentty or at the con8fe8atlon's dlscretlon;
the Income derived from the endowment is to be used either as restricted or unrestrlcted Income funds dependlng upon the
purpose for whlch the endowment was establlshed In the flrst place.
Restrlcted funds comprlse (al Income from endowments whlch Is to be expended only on the restricted purposes intended by
the donor and Ibl rèvenue donatlons or grants for a specific con8regational activty intended by the donor. Where these
funds have unspent balances. interest on thelr pooled Investment is apportloned to the Indlvldual funds on an avera8e basis.
Unrestrlcted funds are Income funds whlch are to be spent on the con8re8atlon's 8enerdl purposes. Designated funds are
general funds set aslde by the congregatlon for use In the futu￿.
INCOMING RESOURCES

These are included in the Statement of Financial Activlties ISOFAI when:

congregatlon pays an asse55ment to the Presbyterian Church in Ireland for both the mlnlster and the assoclate mlnister. The

11. PENSION COSTS
The mlnlster5 of the congregatlon are members of the Presbyterlan Church In Ireland Penslon Scheme120091. Thls Is a
scheme operated by the Presbyterlan Church in I￿land, a separate re81stered charlty. The cOng￿83t￿on pays an assessment
to the Pre5byterlan Church in Ireland equivalent to the employerfs pension contflbutlon for the Scheme and based on the
stipend pald to the mlnlster. The P￿bYter1aft Church in Ireland Pension Scheme (20091 Is a funded Scheme of the deflned
beneflt type, providln8 dÈfined benefits based on career averaged revalued salary. The Scheme has assets held In a
separately administered fund Tnanaged by a board of trustees. The Presbyterian Church and the Scheme Trustees have
agreed a fundin8 plan to ensure the Scheme is sufficiently funded to meet current and futu￿ obligations. A formal schedule
of contributlons was drawn up on 25 November 2015 wherÈby thÈ Presbyterian Church agréed to pay from 31 Decèmber
2015 contributiofts of 24% of penslonable salarles to cover the accrual of benefrts for future service, expenses. the c05t of
Insuring death In servlce beneflts and funding the scheme deficit.

The congregation operates a defined pension contribution Scheme for its employees, which is held by an independent
scheme manager. The employees have opted out of the scheme and therefore there 15 no pension charge in the Statement of

RÈV Emerson McDowell is a trustee of the churth. In hls capacity as the mlnlster of the congregatlon he received remunerètlon
of £45,203 and an expense5 allowance of £7,03G. RÈV Matthew Boyd was a trusteÈ of the church untll 31 March 2024. In h15
capacity as the assoclate minister of the congregation he received remuneration of £8.058 ond an expenses allowance of
£1,349. Penslon contrlbutions of £10.849 and £1,934 respectively We￿ also paid bv the congregatlon In respect of them to the
Pre5byterlan Church in Ireland Pension Scheme12009). Employerfs NIC of £6,937 was pald to the PrÈsbyterian Church In Ireland
