I. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
BASIS OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
As the total Income of the congregatlon Is less than £250,000 the congregatlon have elected
to prepare Its accounts on a recelpts and payments basls, in accordance wlth the provislons
in The Charlties (Accounts and Reports) Regulatlons (Northern Ireland) 2015.
FUNDACCOUNTING
Endowment funds are funds, the capital of whlch must be retalned elther permanently or at the
congregation's discretion; the Income derived from the endowment Is to be used elther as
estrlcted or unrestrlcted Income funds dependlng upon the purpose for which the endowment
was establlshed In the flrst place.
Restrleted funds comprlse (al Income frgm endowments whlch Is to be expended only on the
restrlcted purposes Intended by the donor and Ib) revenue donatlons or grants for a speclflc
conBregatlonal actlvlty Intended by the donor. Where these funds have unspent balances,
Interest on thelr pooled Investment Is apportloned to the Indlvidual funds on an average
balance basls.
Unrestrleted funds are Income funds whlch are to be spent on the congregatlon's general
purposes, Deslgnated funds are general funds set aslde by the congregatlon for use In the
future.
