Under the congregation's governing documenL Th¢ Code. the book of the constltution and gOVernm￿t of the Presbyterian Church in Ir¢land, the Kirk Scssion seeks to watch over and promot¢ the spiritual Inte￿$t of the COTtgregation and of persons not connected with any congregation who are within its bounds. It ensures pastornl care is in pla¢¢ in the congregation and seek5 to further the contrkbution of the Chuwh to Christian wilness and service in the I￿1 comTFtunity. The Kirk Sessions has delegated to its Congregational Committee the temwnl affairs of the congregali(m includiTtg administering aEI funds and property belonging to the c4)ngregatioD. Members of the Kirk Session are ex-officio members of th¢ Congregational Committee. The Kirk Session consists of the ordained minister and the ruling elders of the congregations. All members ar¢ entitled to propose. speak and exercise equal votes at meeting4 except that the Moderator. the ministers in active duty in the congregation. has no deliberative but only a casting vote. Ststed meetings of the Kit* session are held at l¢ast Six times in each year or as appropriate. The General Assembly is nornially constituted during the first week in June for worship and to conduct its business. At the end of busines4 it is dissolved. Mosside Presbyfrrian Church matntains an overview of worship throughout the communty and makes suggestions on how our services can involve the many groups that are within our church. Midweek Bibl¢ study Thursday evenin8S. Mother & Toddler group Wednesday mornings. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE Worship and prayer The congregation nornialty meets for Worship each Sunday at 12 n(M)n. During the week the Bible Study provides an opwrtuntty for members to meet for fellowship. to study the Scriptu￿ and for a time of prayer. As well as our regular services during the year we acknow1dg￿ G￿.$ gift of n¢w life at 6 Sacrdments of Baptism, we o)nduct¢d 3 rnatriag¢ services 3nd gave thanks for faithful Service and sought to comfort those who had been bereaved during the year. At 31 Decem￿[ 2020 there were 280 ￿MMunICant membets and 139 families connected with th¢ congregation. The average weekly attendance at morning worship is 120. .We have church services each Sunday at 12noon which is open to everyon¢ who wishes to worship in the Presbyterian church. We have facilities to r￿ord our servic¢s and people take them and share the gwj news of Jesus with those who are unable to attend. This year we have had special services at FASter. Harvest & Christmas. We had an Fosfrr wetk of worship. PTai5e & pray¢r which see members of th¢ community attend who are not r¢gular Sunday members. Pastoral eare Members of the congregation who ar¢ unable to attend church due to stckn¢ss or age are visited on a regular basis by the mTnister. elde￿ or by one of the Congregation's pastoral visitors. Mission and outreach We have a mission commtttre who meet 2 tiTn&% per year to see whejr we can make a positive impact in mtssion overseas and in our c(xnmunity. One such event is the Christmas lights swttch on in the local village. All gifts and food are supplied by the committee as we strive to have a close relationship with all the uMnmunTty. Football for Friendship is a week-long event wher¢ we outreach to children 88eAI 411. Helping those in need is a demonstration of our faith. We had our usiial annual mission breakfast whue the money rdised was given to the mi)derator's appeal. They will k reviewed by th¢ mission c(MDmittee after 12 months. We visit th¢ community with invitation card at Fa8ter and Chrislmas. Thes¢ are important dates in the church calend8r. This is to invite people to come and join us in worship and prais¢ and extend their faith. We distribute two magazi1￿s quarterly. the Presbyterian Her3Jd and the Wider World. This fund enables congregations to supwt the wider mi&sion of the denomination and to do mission and outreach on a d¢nomi￿l0nal b&sis beyond what tbe congregation could do on its own. The United Appeal Fund provides financial suprx>rt for tnission personnel at home and overseas, assists congregations with the deployment of locally b&sed staff, enables church planting, provides grant support for the upkeep of church premise& assist with the n￿￿ing costs of Union Theological College, the Church's training college for ministy students. and fuwicially suppotts congregation in the arw of W0￿h1p, discipleship. global mi&8ion, outreach, leadetship and pastoral care. The congregation also contributes to the denomination's a[￿Ual Worfd Ikvelopment Appeal alld any other special appeals. Presbytery The congregation represented at the regular meetings of Presbytery by our minister and one of the elders. This provides an important IiDk between th¢ cotwegation and the wider structU￿S of th¢ church. General Assembty The minister and one of our ¢ld¢rs wete nominated to attend the meeting of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland held in Assembly Buildings. BelfasL in June. Property We have safety checks weekly and all repairs are Carri￿ out therefore providing a safe environn￿nt for all members. The session and committee meet 6 tim¢s a year to discuss all chutch related matters making sure everything is completed within the rules and regulattons of the PCI and governmental guidelines. Organisations Sunday school is held at 10:45am every week where we learn together ab)ut God with scripture and prayer. art, Ctaft and song, We have youth Krvice4 Children's Day. summer and Chriskn parties and a Nativity play. 44 Children Monday Club, a group for elderly people in the Community who me¢t every fortnight. They have a luncheon some weeks and outings other weeks. 20 Members Durlng the week the haIl is used by our mothers and toddler gtoup on Wedn¢sdays. Presbyterian Women "PW, meet monthly where they have guest s￿ake[S on various topics. They also raise money for mission ap[￿als. Girls, Brigade: We have an average of 60 members from age 4 to 18. This is a benefit to the whole Community as we teach Biblical truths and live skills as well as fim and games and lifelong friendships are fonned. Boys, Brigade: We have 60 plus members from age 5 to 18. This is a benefit to th¢ whol¢ commiinity as we teach Biblical truths and live skills as well as fi]n and gam¢s and lifelong friendships are formed. MId-w￿k Bible study is a time of study and prayer. We pray for all that in happening in our church, community and the world. Th¢ crèche runs in the hall on Sw)day mornings allowing parents to attend worship. Volunteers The Tn￿teeS wish to acknowledge their deep appreciation of those who give freely of their time by serving on committees and helping with organisations and othei church activities. The direct benefits which flow from the purp)ses of the Church include the gaining of an understanding in Christian beliefs as set out in the Bible and in the Church's suLx)rdinate standards (the Westminster Confession of Failh and the Shorter and Larger Catechisms) l¢ading to spititual and moral development and opportLmities for response to Bible lea¢hiDg. Local delivery is facilitated by central resources in almost au cases. The b¢nefits are demonstrated through regular evaluation of the ServI￿S and infom￿1 and ad-ho¢ feedback from members. their families, and metnbers of the public. Th¢ PUEpose does not lead to hami. The only private benefit flowing from our pur￿ is related to Ministeis. Missionaries, Deaconesses, Irish Mission workas and Lay Agents who receive ben¢fits as a r¢sult of their holding office or employment. However, this is incidental and necessary in order to further our charitable PUTpose. There are no other private ￿nefits. The beneficiaries of this pU￿se are member4 their families, other indivkduals that the Presbyterian Church in Ireland is in direct and indirect contact with, the community in which p&StOr￿ services are provided and other communities throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic of Irelan￿ and worldwide which benefit from our engagement with and support for Ix)th Christian and other secular organisation4 charities and individual members of the public.
