The PTA had a successful year of fundraising through school and community events. Events started off with the Halloween disco for the children at the school and raised £838. In November, the kids got creative making personalised Christmas cards raising £806. In December, the PTA and school staff, for the first time, organised a Winter Wonderland experience for the kids and their families. This involved: a visit from Santa for storytelling in the grotto; an elf room where the kids were given gifts and got to make reindeer food; arts/crafts and games rooms, both hosted by the teachers; face painting; some festive stalls; and refreshments in the canteen. This raised £979.
In the Spring, the PTA organised a pub quiz for the parents and friends of St Bernard’s and thank you to parents and local businesses for donating prizes for the raffle at the event. In total, £1604 was raised. As always, the summer fair was a great day with inflatables, games, face painting, stalls, BBQ, tuck shop etc for the kids, parents and local community and it raised £2501.
During 2022/23, the PTA donated £4510 to St Bernard’s Primary School for the purchase of the final 2 interactive whiteboards for P1. The PTA supported first holy communion and confirmation by buying cakes for each class and organising the tea in the hall after the mass. The PTA subsided the P7 disco at a cost of £121 and all p7s were given a notebook as a leaving present.
