## **Annual Report of the Trustees of St Bernard’s PTA for 1[st] September 2021 to 31[st] August 2022**

This report had been made in accordance with the Northern Ireland Charity Commission’s public benefit guidance. 

The St Bernard’s PTA was registered as a charity to fulfil its charitable purposes of: 

- Improving relationships between home and school 

- funding additional resources for the school 

- Supporting links between the school and the local community 

- Advancing the education of pupils in the school

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, face to face gatherings were limited at the start of the academic year. The PTA raised funds through Christmas cards, a Christmas drive in cinema night at Let’s go Hydro and a virtual quiz raising £858, £724 and £390 respectively. The kids enjoyed a visit from Santa at school after the PTA and helpers created a Santa’s grotto in the school hall. All the kids were given a small present from Santa. 

In the Spring / Summer time, gatherings were able to take place and the PTA organised a pub quiz, night at the races and summer fair for the school community raising £5461 altogether. The summer fair was a huge success raising £3147 on its own. 

During 2021/22, the PTA donated £9020 to St Bernard’s Primary School for the purchase of 4 interactive whiteboards for P3 and P4 classrooms. The PTA donated £3500 to St Bernard’s Primary School for the cost of a sensory room in the school and lastly £250 for prizes to promote the accelerated reader programme in the school. The PTA supported first communion and confirmation by buying cakes for each class and all p7s were given a notebook as a leaving present. 

The AGM was held on 18[th] October 2022 and the new committee is as follows:

The trustees are delighted with the feedback from the events of 2021/22 and the generous support of the parents and children by volunteering their time and money to make these events such a success. They are further pleased by the running of the PTA and confirm the accounts, agreeing the balance for the end of the financial year as of 31st August 2022 as £8152.86.
