Irvinestown Lady of the Lale festival AGM: 27[th] March 2024 

The festival is still going strong in what is now its 46[th] year. 

Mainly thanks to the great support from local residents and businesses and especially due to the time and effort put in by our great team of volunteers. Give yourselves a round of Applause! 

We need to plan for this years festival and as usual we plan to go 10 days in July. 

The 12[th] is in Irvinestown this year so we intend to include it in the programme by staring on 11[th] July – this is a great opportunity to show how strong our community ties are in Irvinestown. 

We are looking for fresh ideas as our survey last year showed that a few people thought that some of the events were a ‘bit tired’ so if anyone has any thoughts on that can they bring them to the planning meetings. 

Also there is some debate re having the fair day in Necarne or bringing it back to the town. Would appreciate feedback on that. 

We have sent an application for sponsorship to FODC, so hope that will help with costs for this years festival. We also wish to express our thanks to all those who took ads in our programme which brings in much needed funds and for the prizes donated by local businesses. 

Here’s to another year of festivals in Irvinestown and we can all be very proud of our wee town.
