Under the congregation's governlng document, The Code, the book of the constltution and government of the Presbyterlan Church In Ireland, the Kirk Se5slon seeks to watch over and promote the spiritual interest of the congregation and of persons not connected with any con8re8atlon who are wlthln Its bounds, It ensures pastoral care Is In place In the con8regatlon and seeks to further the contribution of the Church to Chrlstian wltness and service In the local community. The Klrk Sesslon ha5 delegated to its Congregational Committee the temporal affalr5 of the congregation Includlng admlnistering all funds and property belonging to the congregation. Members of the Kirk Sesslon are ex-officio members of the Congregatlonal Committee. The Klrk Sesslon conslsts of the ordained minister and the ruling elders of the congregatlon5. All members are entltled to propose, speak and exerclse equal votes at meetlngs, The Moderator, the minister in actlve duty In the congregatlon, has no dellberatlve but only castlng vote. Stated meetings of the Kirk session are held eight times per year. To be chosen for the office of the eldership in the congregation a person must be a votlng member and a regular attendant on Its ordinances. The selection of those proposed to be called to the office can be elther by the con8regation or by the Kirk Session. Members are elected If they obtaln two-thlrds of those who vote. Presbytery Under the Presbyterian Church In Ireland form of governance the corporate oversight of a congregation is the responsibility of a Presbytery which superintends generally the spiritual and temporal affairs of the congregations assigned to it by the General Assembly of the Presbyterlan Church In Ireland. Kilmore Congregation of the Presbyterian Church has been assigned to the Down Presbytery of the Presbyterlan Church In Ireland. The membership of the Presbytery consists mainly of the actlve mlnisters of congregations assigned to it by the General Assemblyi minster5 who have retired from active duty and an elder appointed by the Kirk Session of the congregation. At the end of buslness it is dissolved, The membershlp of the General Assembly consists mainly of the active ministers of each congregation, retired minsters and a representative elder appointed by the Klrk Sesslon of each con8re8atlon, DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE The charltable purpose of the congregation is the advancement of rellglon. l(Ilmore Congregatlon of the Presbyterlan Church Is a congregatlon of the Presbyterlan Church in Ireland. As a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, we believe that the Bible is the supreme authority over all we do, L7nd that the Westmlnster Confesslon of Faith, along with the Larger and Shorter Cotechisms set out whL7t we understand the Bible teaches on key matters of Christiun faith and practice. The Sacrament of the Lords Supper is observed four tlmes during the year and all those who have been baptised and who have made a professlon of falth in the Lord Jesus Christ are admitted to the Lord's Supper. The congregatlon holds regular bible study meetings and has a wide range of organisations including Sunday School (JAM) & Youth Bible Class (CYI 2 Youth Clubs (JAM Plus & CY Plus) Presbyterlan Women Bowlln8 Club CAMEO (Come And Meet Each Other) Senior Members Lunch Church Choir and Praise Band Mldweel< Fellowship for Prayer and Blble Study Annual Bible Club for children and young people ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE Worshlp and prayer The congregation normally meets for worship each Sunday at 11.30am and has a monthly evening servlce at 7pm from September through to May. The Mldweek Fellowshlp (on Wednesday evenlngsl provldes an opportunlty for members to meet together for fellowship, to study the scrlptures and for a time of prayer. As well as our regular servlces durlng the year we sought to comfort those who had been bereaved durlng the year through funeral services. At 31 December 2022 there were 143 communlcant members and 111 famllles connected wlth the congregatlon. The avera8e weekly attendance at mornln8 worshlp was 78 and 58 for evenlng worship.
