The trustees present their Trustees, Annual Report prepared in accordance with Charities SORP
{effective January 2015} and the independently examined statements for the year ended 31 August
2023.
Structure, Governance and Management

Donagh Wee Folk Playschool is governed by its Constitution that was adopted on 22 November
2022. The trustees at the date of this report and those who served during the financial year
together with the dates of any chan8es are as listed below.

At the AGM held on the 5 October 2023 the trustees above resigned and were re-elected. Ms
Nathalie Lynch was also elected as vice- chairperson at this AGM.
Donagh Wee Folk Playsthool is registered with the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland since 9
May 2016, under reference number NIC 105175.

Objectives and Activities
Ob'ectives
The playschool is established to promote play based learning environments for all children under
statutory school age, (hereinafter referred to as the beneficiaries) of Donagh and its surrounding
environs in County Fermanagh {hereinafter called "the area of benefit") without distinction of age,
gender, marital status, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, ethnic identity, political or religious
opinion, by associating the statutory authorities, community and voluntary organisation5 and the
inhabitants in a common effort to advance education, and in particular:
al to advance the education of the beneficiaries by the provision of safe and satisfying group
play, with the rights of parentslcarers to take responsibility for and to become involved in
the activitie5 of the playschool: and to promote the preservation of health of the
beneficiaries- and
b) To support the values and principles of Early Years.

Activities
Donagh Wee Folk playschool was set up in 1997 by members of the local community, in response to
requests from parents for the provision of locally based pre-school education. The group is run by a
voluntary committee, and is based in Donagh Wee Folk Playschool building which is rented from
Donagh Development Association. Donagh Wee Folk Playschool works closely with advisors from
organisations such as Early Years, the Education Authority, Health Trust to enable each child to
progre55 and learn through play to the best of their ability. Donagh Wee Folk Playschool is
registered with WHSCT social services department and is also part of the WELB pre-school education
expansion programme. Donagh Wee Folk Playschool follow the DENI guidelines and offer children
opportunities to learn through play using the six areas of learning: Language, Early Maths, Art, The
World Around Us, Music, Personal, Social, Emotional and Physical Development.
Donagh Wee Folk playschool trustees have considered the Charity Commission for Northern
Ireland's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing our objectives and in planning our
future activities to ensure that these achieve the association's purposes and provide a benefit to
beneficiaries.
Financial Review
Review of the business
Donagh Wee Folk Playschool is a non-profit making organisation with a net deficit for the year of
3,466. The largest expense for the organisation continues to be that of staff wages.
During the year we organised various fundraising activitie5 such as a cakes sale, a sponsored cycle, a
raffle and a street collection. We also applied for various grants to ensure the school could provide
and pay for better resources to meet the needs of all the children.
The trustees continue to manage resources in an efficient and sustainable manner investing in staff
training and new equipment for the school.
Reserves Poli
Donagh Wee Folk have a Reserves Policy, which requires that reserves are built or maintained at a
level which ensures that the or8anisations known liabilities will be paid should the orga nisation
cease to trade.
Future Plans
Donagh Wee Folk Playschool plan to continue to focus on staff training, controlling costs, while
maintaining the high standards of Service to our beneficiaries.
Statement of Trustees Responsibilities for the year ended 31" August 2023
The trustees are responsible for preparing the financial statements in accordance with applicable
law and regulations.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting record5 which disclose with reasonable
accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to ensure that the
financial statements comply with all appropriate regulations. They are a150 responsible for safe
guardin8 the a55ets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and
detection of fraud and other irregularities.

In so far as the trustees are aware:
There is no relevant information {information needed by the charitvs independent examiner
in connettion with preparing the independent examinerf5 report) of which the charit(s
independent examiner is unaware, and
The trustees have taken all the steps that they ought to have taken to make themselves
aware of any relevant independent examiner information and to establish that the charitvs
independent examiner is aware of that information
