## **Stoneyford Community and Youth Association** ## **Summary Minutes of Annual General Meeting** ## **Held on Monday 15[th] January 2024 at 7pm** ## **In St Johns Parish Church Hall** ## Chairperson Report - Kirsty McKeown welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming. - 22/23 Was another successful period for us as a community group. - Thanks to the ongoing continued support from LCCC we have been able to provide the members of Stoneyford and surrounding areas with much needed support, resources, and a variety of tailored programs. An example of these would be the hardship grant that we were successful in receiving allowing us to provide warm nutritious meals to the older members of the village. - We were able to run age-appropriate cooking classes for young and old. Teaching them the skills to cook in a more cost conscious and sustainable way. - We were once again successful in receiving our annual community support, Christmas and festival grants. These are the times that the village look forward to coming together as a whole to - strengthen relationships but also the opportunity to create new ones. - Our polytunnel continues to be a great asset to the village. With the support from the conservation volunteers, we are giving people the opportunity to get outdoors, improve mental health and enjoy the benefits of fresh grown produce. - A standout moment for us was being able to come together to celebrate a part of history. We held a fun day in our village park to mark the Queens Jubilee. - A fantastic achievement for us as a group was the installation of the speed indicator in the village. As you all know speed is still an ongoing issue in the village, but we are pleased that after years trying to have the issue addressed, we were allocated a permeant speed indicator to help us address the problem. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our community police and our local elected council reps. - Our village friends group continues to go from strength to strength. They have created great - friendships and are a great support network for each other. They are always willing to try new things and always amaze us with their creations. - On behalf of the members of the community association I would like to thank our local councillors who are always there to support us when needed. They are always willing to go above and beyond for us when they can. - To our community police thank you for always checking in with us and offering your help and - support in situations that sometimes can be contentious and sensitive. - Peter our neighbourhood watch. It is really reassuring knowing that we have a great working. - relationship and can support each other as and when needed. Some things are easier when we go at them in a joint approach. - Rev Farr and the committee of St Johns parish for allowing us the use of the hall. - Victoria thank you for taking the time tonight to help and support by leading the AGM. And for - • always being there when needed. - Finally on a personal note. Thank you to all the committee members for all the time and effort you each put into everything. Without each of your individual skills and talents we wouldn’t be able to achieve what we do. ## Treasurers Report -Wilma Henderson LCCC thanked for the following Grants – - Annual Community Support Grant - Festival Grant – Summer Fete - Christmas Grant – Annual Switch on VF Xmas activities - Jubilee grant • In addition, we were also successful in obtaining a heath grant from PHA that enabled us to deliver mental health and wellbeing classes for the youth in village, cookery workshops for the youth, craft pottery sessions for Village friends , along with armchair aerobics. - Also received a small grant form DAERA that enabled us to purchase a new microwave for the kitchen. • Accounts have been independently examined by John Belshaw, Chairperson of White Mountain District and Community Association. • Opening Balance £7460.45 Total Income £11, 892.99 This comprised of grants from LCCC, DEARA and PHA Expenditure £11, 580.29 – Closing Balance £7773.15 • Special thanks given to LCCC for the Grants they have provided and for the continued support across many aspects to enable us to deliver these programs - Accounts are available for anyone wishing to view them.
