This is in line with their constitution . Newcastle Glees Musical Society also provide encouragement for all ages, with particular attention to young people, to take part in musical and theatrical performances, both on and off the stage. Newcastle Glees Musical Society are also dedicated to the upkeep and maintenance of The Annesley Hall, South Promenade, Newcastle. The hall is an important listed building in the Newcastle area and needs to bo kepl to an accpptable standard suitable for high quality theatrical performances and such like activities. Newcastle Glees Musical Society actively encourages and welcomes 'others users ' to avail of all the facilities on offer at the Annesley Hall, this ensures full cross community use of the premises.

The trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission Public benefit requirement statutory guidance. Achievements and Perforniances During the past year Newcastle Glees Musical Society achieved their aims and objectives through the following activities.'_ 2022 Sunday 14th August - First rehearsal for 'Made in Dagenham,. a Northern Irish Premiere, continuing on a weekly and twice weekly basis. until performance dates in November 2022. Thursday 1 st September - First rehearsal for a re-run of the soSd out concert in May 2022, 'Showtime A night at the Musicals.. Monday 5th September - Newcastle Glees Musical Annual General Meeting Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th September - Concert 'Showtime. A night at the Musicals,. Both nights were sold out. Saturday 1 st October - Newcastle Junior Glees registration day with over ninety young people signing up. - Junior rehearsals every Saturday afternoon from 2pm to 6pm Monday 1 Oth October - Received a grant from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland towards the cost of our production 'Made in Dagenham ' Thursday 17th November to Saturday 26th November- 8 performances of 'Made in Dagenham, Sunday 4th December - Christmas Craft Fair in the Annesley Hall, Newcastle 2023 Friday 17th February - Saturday 25th February 6 performances of 'Little Mermaid, by Newcastle Junior Glees. Saturday 1st April - Auditions for the musical '23rd Annual Putnam Spelling Bee with continuing rehearsals twice weekly. Sunday 2nd April - Easter Craft Fair in the Annesley Hall, Newcastle. Thursday 18th and Friday 19th May - Cabaret style concert- 'The World of Musicals, Sunday 20th May - Information and Launch Evening for the musical 'Urinetown'. Saturday 17th June - Katy Keavney won Best Comedienne Award at The Association of Irish Musical Societies Awards weekend in Killarney, for 'Made in Dagenham. Tuesday 27th June - Saturday 1 st July - 5 performances of the musical 'Spelling Bee,. Sunday 9th July - Auditions for the November 2023 production of the musical 'Urinetown'

The Annesley Hall is listed by the Environment and Heritage Service and is a building of historical and architectural importance. This hall is owned by the Newcastle Glees Musical Society and is their home. The group have strict policies and procedures in place to ensure that all who enter the hall is made most welcome and safe at all times, Newcastle Glees Musical Society continually evaluate and monitor all events of the society in order to improve the quality, standard and enjoyment of all activities. This process is done through meetings, debriefs and reports. These findings are fed into the society's decision making process when planning luture events. Newcastle Glees Musical Society enjoy what they do and worf( hard at it. They are also mindful of their objectives and aims when planning their activities and always pay particular attention to the safety of all, through the various policies and prwedures that are regularly updated in line with current legislation. to safeguard our members. the public and other users of the Annesley Hall. The trustees of Newcastle Glees Musical Society acknowledge and appreciate the effort and support of all volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the smooth running and continuing success of the society and the Annesley Hall. Basis of Independent examiner's report I have examined your charity accounts as required under section 65 of the Charities Act and my examination was carried out in accordance with the general Direclions given by the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland under section 65(9){b) of the Charities Act. The examination in¢lLsded a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also included consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees conceming any such matters.
