The Directors are pleased lo present their annual report together wlh the financial statements of the Charity
for the year ended 30 June 2022 which are also prepared lo meet the requirements for 8 Directors, report
and accounts for Companies Act purposes.

ThroughoLsI thè 1881 year, the onlino delivery of activities continued and in-person engagements started
again. 11 was only in the last months of this yearfs work that places of worship experienced the return of
congregations. The limiled involvement of laity in ministry in the Church Ibec8use of the pandemic) hos
meant th81 there have been no reqLfre81s for Ir8inlng or ￿￿eCtIOn d8yS.
The Trustees 8cknowledge that the p8ndemic h88 greatly red￿￿d the Church-based activitlo8 of Thornhill
Ministries. However, Ihe conlribulion of our generous volunteers continues lo be valued and essential. In
particular, the readiness 8nd willingness of Prayer Guides lo assist with the Seasonal Activities in parish
contexts has made il possible to offer prayer opportunities online andlor via webcams. The efforts of
volunteers in preparing and uploading material$ on Facebook is 8 benefit lo many.

The objects of the Charity provide for opportunities of prayer, exploration of spirilu81ity, renewAI. reflection
and 8dull faith formation. The Charity continues lo be open lo people of faith, lo others who 8re searching for
meaning in their lives, lo those seeking conlemplalive opportunities, and lo individuals who seek spiritual
direction. A priority of Thornhill Ministries is to onsure Ihat it5 oblects Bre Accessiblo to all
including those
who belong lo low income groups.
In monitoring the oblectlves and plannlng for our actlvilies. the Trustees have considered the Ch#rfty
Commission's guidance on public benefit requirement IPBR11. We are open to and actively encourage the
whole community ID join wlh us in our ministries ano in our prayer.

Our volunteers
The consislenl efforts of volunteers in helping with distribution of our Lenten Calend8rs, our annual
Chrislmas Cards, creative Crafttvork or in assisting with the recycling of cEolhing has helped with our modest
fundraising. The Trustees greatly appreciate all who in any way support the CoMpan￿S efforts lo realize our

During the year total income of £12.406 was receNed. Total costs for the year were £11,053 including
depreciation of £135. This resulted in 8 surplus for the year of £1,353. When added to opening reserves of
£32,068 it left the Charily with reseNes of £33.421 al the year end ￿1¢h are 811 unrestricted.
The Trustees were pleased wth the results for the year. The reserves 8t the year-end were all unrestricted.
Reser¥es poll¢y and golng concem
Reserves are needed lo bridge the gap be￿eeTr the spending and receiving of income and to cover
unplanned emergency costs. The Directors consider that reserves of £10,000 are required to meet all costs.
The Trustees have reviewed the circumstances of the Charity and consider that there are adequate funds for
the foT8seeable future. The Trust88s are of the view that the Charity is a going concern.

Plans for future perlods
The effects of the pandemic, the neca$sity lo let go of employees and the loss of Thornhill House have
significantly impacted Thornhill Ministrles. The TrLtstees of the Charlty remain passionate lo ils Objects and
Aclivilies.
With the easing of reslriclions, the hope of the Trustees is that the new ye8r will bring opportunities formor8
in-person eng8gemenls and lo reconvene the cohort of volunteers, parti¢ulady for the Prayer Guidance
movement which has been largely dormant due to the pandemic. The Charity remains committed lo
presenting reflective processes in responding lo the hunger for spiritual nourishment and is planning lo lead
relre8t-days and liluryical training opportunities in the coming months.

the Charily and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other
irregularities.
The report has been prèpared in 8c¢ord8nce with the spec[81 provisions for small companies under part 15
of the Companies Act 2006.
