for the year ended 30 June 2022 which are also prepared to meet the requirements for a Directors, report

Throughout the last year, the online delivery of activities continued and in-person engagements started
again. 11 was only in the last months of this yearfs work th81 places of worship oxperiencad the return of
congregations. The limited involvement of laity in mlnislry In the Church (because of the p8ndemicl has
m88nt that there have bean no raquests for Iralnlng or reflection days.
Th8 Trustees acknowledge that the pandemic has greatly reduced the Church-b8s0d activities ol Thofnhill
Ministries, However, the contribution ol our generous volunteers continues lo be valued and essential. In
particular, the readiness and willingness of Prayer Guides lo assist with the Seasonal Activities in parish
conlexls has made il possible lo offer prayer opportuniti8s online andlor via webcams. The efforts of
volunteers in preparing and uploading maleri818 on Facebook is a benefit lo many.

The objects of the Charity provide for opportunilles of prayer, explorBtlon of spirituality. renewal, reflection
and adult faith fomialion, The Charity continues to be open lo people of faith, to others who are searching lor
meaning in their lives, lo those seeking conlemplalive opportunities. and to individuals who seek spir¢lual

including thos
who belong lo low income groups.
In monitoring the objeellves and plannlng for our aclivilies, the Trustees have consldered tho Chadty
Commission's guidance on public benefit requirement IPBR11. We are open lo and actively encourage the
ole community to join with us in our ministries and in our pr8yer.

During th8 year total income of £12.406 was received. Total costs for the year were £11,053 including
depreciation of £135. This resulled In a surplus for the year of £1.353. When added lo opening reserves of
£32,068 il left the Charity wllh reserves of £33,421 at the year end whlch are all unrestricted.
The Trustees were pleased with the results for the year. The reseNes al the ye8r-end were all unreslricled.
R•i•ries pollcy and golng con¢•rn
Reserves 8re needed lo bridge the gap betsveen the spending and receiving of income 8nd to cover
unplanned emergency costs. The Directors consider that reserves of £10,000 arg required lo meet all costs.
The Trustees have revlewed the circumstances of the Chanty and consider that there are 8d8quale funds for
the foreseèable future. The Trustees are of the view that the Charity is a going concem.

Plans for future perlods
The effects of the pandemic, the necessity to let go of employees and the loss of Thornhill House have
significantly impacted Thornhill Ministries. The Trustees of the Charity remain passion810 to its Obiects and
Activities.
With the easing of re51riclions, the hope of the Trustees is that the new year will bring opportunities formore
in-person engagements and to reconvene the cohort of volunteers, particularly for the Prayer Guidance
movement which has been largely dorrnanl due lo th8 pandemic. The Charity remains committed lo
presenting r8fleclive processes in responding lo the hunger for spiritual nourishment and is planning to lead
retreal-days and lilurglcal training opportunities in the coming months.
