The financial statements are prepared in accordance with the Companies Act 2006, FRS 102 'The Fin8ncial Reporting
Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland" and Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of
Recommended Practice applicable to charities prepèring their financial slal&ments in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021.
The Directors, Report contains the information required to be provided in the Directors. Annual Rèport under the

Structure
Brassneck Theatre Company has 8 m8n8gement committee of up lo 6 members who meet quarterly and are
responsible for the strategic direction and policies of the chadty- Al prespnl the charity has 6 member5 from a variety
of professional backgrounds relevant lo the work of the charity.
A Scheme of delegation 15 in place and day to day responsibility of the services re51 with the Cornpany Manager and
Artistic Director. They are Tesponsible for ensuring the charity delivers the services specified and that key performance
indicators are mel. Sub-committees are in place to revEw some areas in greater detail e.g. finance and HR,
programming, marketing.

Since 2007 the company has played an Inl8gr81 part In everyday West Belfast society by enriching people's1Sves in the
communities that we serve. Ourwork reflects all our citizens and is a￿SsIble lo all. We have provided a plattom lor
Ioc81 artists. writers. musicians, and technicians lo have their voices heard and talents highlighted on a local, national,
and international platform. The youth training strand of our work provkles quality. 8ffordabl8 professional slandard
perfomiing arts training to children and young people from dtsadvanlaged backgrounds. BraSSTieck Theatre Company
h8s been at the forefront of developing new audiences. We premiere all our work in non-tradilional venues such as
50ual dub5 or sports halls lo break down the barner for new audiences. This affords our audience members the
opportunlty to see their Stories in a setting that is comfortable and affordablB'lhe benefit of this 18 the promotion of self-
value and self-85te8m as our audiences leave feeling valued as citizens when they see their ytories told through the
medium of Ihealre. By keeping Ilckel prices low and compelltlve, we find that we eng8ge a large number of citizens
who may not Usual￿ attend the theatre on a regular basis. People who m8y consider the arts lo be inaccessible due to
class misconceptions or preconception5 that the arts are simply inaccessible to them through their financial or social
status. Our prices have not changed for eleven years now. from flagshlp to regional and rural, unlr8dllional venues,
thus assuring acce5S to the arts for all our citizens as well as building 4 sustainable sector. Community Development
arKI Engagement happens naturally throughoLJI all strand3 of our work,. this is done through the devèlopment of new
stories, the nurturlng r>f new writers, actors, teChn￿lan3, the Opportunity of p8rt1clpalory art$ training lo chlldren and
young people, the provision of quality arts in areas where il ia rnoal out ef reaeh.
Indirect benefldarfes of our work include young people placed on work experience, a sharing of resources wllh other
relev8nl arts companies, contribution to local government strategy and policy, inlervlews with PHD students lo irrform

Revlew of Actlvitles, Achlevements and Perforniance
New Writing
Bia55neck Theatre Cornpany have been developing, supporting, and nurturing emerging playwrights for the last 17
years. We do this by providing them with a professional platform. In the year 2023 we supported 3 new plays, reaching
over 6000 audience members, played at 18 venues nationwide, and employed over 40 artists.
Partiapalion
Brassneck Youth young training programme provides a platform for children and young people aged 4-18yr5 to
participate in quality, affordable perfoTrning arts training. We engaged with over 90 chlldren and young people aged 4-
18 in the year 2023. We collaborated with variou5 youth and art5 on creating work addressing issues around mental ill
health and the promotion of positive mental health. We created opportunities lor our member5 to audition for
professional theatre, Film and TV, and as a result 7 of our members were engaged in professional contracts in 2023.
Our members supported local arts festivals and organi¥ations in the dellvery of their arts programmes by parb'cipaling
arKI performing. Bra55neck Youth members worked with over 20 8ddilional professional artists developirrfj skills in
many disciplines over the year. We benefited greatly from the addition of new volunteers to our programmes thig
year.
Collaboratron
Brasgned( Wofks Collaboratively wSlh many dlfferenl artistic disciplines and artists thrcughoul all our work. Throughout
2023 we worked on 3 productions and worked with over 40 differant artlsts. We collaborated with Equlty the union to
sign 2 bespoke agreements lo improve working conditions for Pertormers, stage manogers and directors. We
collaborated with 18 venues and used our own venue lo host a no￿V0rking event for over 40 artists and 6 organisalions
in collaborallon with thè Switchboard No￿ork.

current financial position, ils income streams. and 115 lunding requirernents to May 2025.

As the charity directors you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the lemis
of the Companies Act 2006. Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit under company law,
and is eligible for independent examination, il is my responsibility to..

GENERAL INFORMATION
Brassneck Theatre Company is 8 company limited by guarantee incorporated in Northern Ireland. The
registered office of the company is 2 Hannahstown Hill, Belfast Co. Anlrim, BT17 OLT, Northern Ireland which
is also the principal place of business of the company The financial statements have been presented in Pound
Sterling (£1 which is also thè functional currency of the company.
Income
Voluntary income or capitsl is included in the Statement of Fin8ncial Activities when the company is legally
entitled to it, ils financial value can be quantrfied with feasonable certainty and there is reasonable certainly of
ils ultimate recèipt. Entitlement to legacies is consldered established when the company has been notified of a
distnbution tts be made by the executor5. Income received in advance of due perfemance under a contract 1$
accounted for as deferred income until earned. Grants for activities are recognised as income when the related
condition5 for legal entitlement have been mel. All other incom8 is accounted for on an accrual's basis.
