Public Benefit

The trustees have given consideration and will adhere to the Charity Commission for Northern Ireland’s guidance on public benefit.

Ards Boxing Club provides a safe space for young people and adults to learn and develop new skills, improve their fitness and socialise. The direct benefits which flow from the purpose of the boxing club is the improvement of the health and mental wellbeing of its members, personal strength and discipline, and a connected community. These benefits are evidenced through regular feedback from members and their families and friends. Ards Boxing Club is also used as a platform to promote mental health and we actively encourage members to support each other, celebrate each other’s successes and let us know when they’re not feeling ok.

Future Plans

Ards Boxing Club has continued to grow and has extended to the top floor of the premises, which would not have been possible without the help of local volunteers donating time and materials. With additional funding and donations, we hope to update the gym equipment and make further improvements to the facilities available over the coming year.

The club is an affiliated member of the Irish Athletic Boxing Association (IABA) and we continue to showcase great talent at each level of the competition.

We will continue to encourage members to come and take part in the sport whether it be for competitive reasons or simply to join in and keep fit.

We will endeavour to update and maintain our training and procedures.

The support we have received from our members and local community during 2024 – 2025 has been incredible and has helped us maintain and improve the gym. The interest in the club from the local community has continued to grow which has helped the club provide a service at the £2 suggested drop-in fee, keeping the sport as inclusive as possible.

Financial Review

For the year ending 6[th] April 2025, Ards Boxing Club generated an income of £8,090 with outgoings of £8,415.
