Kindertee AGM Thursday 21[st] November 2023

Maria McBrien (Kindertee Leader) welcomed everyone to AGM. 

Maria opened the meeting with apologies from parents unable to attend the AGM 

All 40 children have settled well, Maria is working her way through parent phone calls. 

The Autumn Gathering went v well, the children did so well. 

Thank you sending in your cereal boxes, to support us an eco school. 

Kindertee Christmas Fundraiser – Christmas Winter Wonderland planned for 7[th] December. 

Allocated time slots will be sent out to parents. 

Christmas concert planned for 15[th] December – morning session – 10.30, afternoon session 1.00pm 

Kindertee is part of the Getting Ready to Learn programme which focuses on years education, children are enjoying it. 

Guest Speaker – Leanne Donegan Paedi atric Occupational Therapist (For You OT) spoke to parents, staff and committee about the role of a Paediatric Occupational Therapist and the benefits it offers to children. 

Elaine summarised the minutes of last years AGM that was held in 2022 

There were no matters arising from the previous minutes 

Leanne McAnespy – gave Chairpersons address to parent and staff. 

Treasurers report 



Vicki provided a breakdown of the Income and Expenditure for the year ending 31[st] August as prepared by Catherine McBrien accountant. The main sources of income is from the Dept of Education, Parental Contributions and Gift Aid, this year Kindertee has seen a reduction in the Dept of Education contribution, due to reduction in numbers of children with Special Educational Needs. 

Grant Aid which is much needed to support playschool has increased this year, thank you to Angela for her hard work in securing Grants over this years. 

Vicki (on behalf of the outgoing committee) suggested a Grants Officer would be beneficial to the new committee going forward. 

Kindertee has received significant donations from local business, and this year we were very grateful to receive a significant donation from Derrylin Enterprise. 

The donations received have enabled significant improvement to outside facilities, such as a wooden framed pergolas and outdoor playbased surface. The donations also contribute to the children being able to benefit from external activities such as Jo Jingles, Relax Kids, Yoga and reflexology to name a few.

## **Secretary’s Report** 

Elaine gave an overview from the last year of minutes of committee meetings 

Fundraising 

Another successful year of fundraising through Christmas Calendar Christmas fair and clothing collections an the end of year sponsored walk. Details can be found on the financial report. 

Policies 

Kindertee policies will be adapted as the year progresses. The Trust inspection has yet to take place. 

Training 

All staff have completed child safeguard training. Staff are working their way through food handling training. 

Upgrades that have taken place in playschool 

Improvements outdoors with installation on Pergola and playground surface outside. 

The children have been enjoying their additional activities such as Relax Kids, Jo Jingle and Yoga. 

Leanne, Vicki and Elaine , welcomed Maria as new Kindertee Leader and wished her all the best in her new role, thanked all the staff for their hardwork and ongoing support and gave a special thanks to Angela for everything thing she has done for playschool over the years to make it the success it is today. 

Angela spoke and thanked the staff committee and parents for their support over the years.

The exiting committee raised role of Grants Officer – Maria advised that this will be role of new committee, based on advice from Early Years Organisation. 

Handover meeting to be arranged between outgoing nominated officers and new nominated officers.
