CULCAVEY HALL Annual Report for year April 2023 to April 2024.
This year we have been able to get back to nonnal with the COVID pandemic behind us.
Throughout the year we have continued with meetings and activities both weekly and monthly.
Weekly we have met each Lords Day for the breaking of bread.
The Prayer meeting and Bible study has taken place on Wednesday evenings and there has been
periods of children s work usually lasting six weeks at a time.
These m￿tingS were held on Tuesday evenings and lead by Cheryl. Grace and their team. The
Assembly bus was used and driven by Michael.
The Sunday evening meetings now take place on two evenings per month and the drive-in
meeting is held on one afternoon per month. However a number have been held in the hall due to
the weather. A number of evening meetings have included a missionary report mostly from
speakers we have had on previous occasions although we had new ones this year. One being
Paul SUMMer￿111e from SASRA and the other, Craig Dennison from the Trinity Bible Society. We are
thankful to the many visiting speakers who contributed to these seNices.
Our annual Holiday Bible W￿k was held in July in the marqu￿ as in previous years. It was
organised by Michael and well supported by the assembly. Good numbers of children from the
surrounding areas attended.
The December Drive-in Carol Service was held in the Hall due to inclement weather. Stephen
Spence gave the Christmas message and Carol Millar provided the music.
The Community Hour which takes place on the 3rd Saturday of the month from October until April
took place as nomal and was very well attended by people from Lisburn and surrounding areas.
The outing last year was to the Hillmount garden Centre, then Bangor and a meal at Rockmount
Golf Club. This year the outing will be on Saturday 25th May and we plan to travel to Ballymena
for the day and the first stop will be the Tullyglass Hotel for a three course carvery meal. We are
thankful to the speakers and singers who contributed to the work of the Communty Hour.
At our monthly Business Meeting we s￿k to distribute financial support to those engaged in the
Lords work both at home and abroad. Those to receive such funds are selected by the members
of the committ￿ and the funds then administered by Michael and Nathan. An Annual Financial
Report is prepared by Nathan and is available to all members of the fellowship.
At the beginning of the year our brother John Patterson informed the Assembly that he would be
standing down as an elder from the 31 st of March and this has now occurred and we want to
thank John for the service he has given over many years. Even before John became an elder he
was a very active deacon who ensured that everything in the assembly was in good working
order. John is not only a spiritual man, he is also a very practical person who could repair most
things that were broken. He lead throughout the Pandemic and most of the records which we
keep including minutes of meetings. lists of actions to be preformed were designed by John and
will continue to be used and we will always be grateful.
The rest of the members of the business meeting remain unchanged. those being Jim Topping
and Jackie Dunlop acting as elders. The other members being Adrian Whitten, William Anderson
and Michael Millar.
ReF)Ort complied by Jackie Dunlop.
