Constitutlon
REACT i8 a non-lncorporated body and is an ￿pIed charty by HM Revenue and Cusloms. REACT was registered
as a charty by the Charity CommissbJn Northern Ireland on the 12 May 2016 under number104972

Who are REACT
REACT first o￿ned in Amiagh li February1999. The organi5alion, knovm OfKJinalty as EPIC Mid Ulster, was
established to WOTk vith ex.prisoners and theirfamilies. Due to the chaThJes in b)cal need the organisaion became
REACT, (Reconcilialion, Education and Communty Traningl in 2002. The otganisalion has suctessfully evolved
from working with a single Mlenlily group to wothing cross communty wilh groups and indivijuals from all
backgrounds, religlons, or ojllures.
REACT operales primari￿ n the County Arniagh. th)ume and Tyr￿ areas, is registered as a charity under The
Charity Commtssion for NLYthem Ireland.
REACT has 25 years experience of successfuly delNering a range of community support, development and relallons
projects. REACT currentty delivers a range of support services to victlms and survivors of the Northem Ireland
Troubles and to chikjren and young wple twimarily KIenIffi￿ as at risk, vulnerable or disadvantaged.
The organis3fk)n adheres to the Code of GLsJd GoVernar￿e as set out by the Charity Cornmission for Northem
Ireland. The Management Committee have the ultimate resp)nsibilty for ensuring the suxessful delivery of all
REACT services, exerGising appropriate controls and ensuring accountsbilty.
REACT recognises that addressing all the needs of wctims and survivors, children and young people is not easily or
effectively &hleved by working alone, and that by y￿rking in partnership and collaboration Viilh a range of statutory
and community agencies we can better meel the needs of service users and our community.
Service user engagement is core lo our elhos. CoMmun￿allrO with and involving our servlce users at every stage of
service development, delivery and evaluation is fundamenlal. REAcfs Viclims and Survivors Steering Group, Youth
Commttlee and Youth Mentoring Working Group provide plaffomis for servr£ users lo have their vol￿5 heard and
influence the diredion and development of the 0rganisat￿Jn.
Most importantty, REACT continues to rise to the challenge of dealing W*h developing needs vilhin the communty,
promoting empowerment and peace, and teing mindful of how besl to provide accessible resp)nsive services
that support and tran5fom the lives of those most in need, vulnerable and disadvantaged.

The Trustees believe that both our purposes and the &trwities u￿lertaken in this lasl financial year clearly satisfy
elements of the publiG benefrt requirement.

The REACT Victims and Survivors Projecl, funded through VSS Victims &Jpport Programme, supports victims

REICT plans to maintain the high starKtard of servw provided and ccrfrtinue wilh the varrjus courses and
prOgrarn￿ on each project and will continue to seek the ￿SSary fuThliNJ to do g),
Flnancial revlew and Investsnent Policy
During the year ended 31 March 2019, the charty receN&l funding of £336.684, and donations, fundraising and
olher incorne of£1,635, which yielded a surplus of £19.
No investments are carried on by the charity.
Risk Management
The Truste&s have examined the major strategic, business and operattonal risks which the charty faGes and confirm
that systems have been established lo enable regular ￿pOrtS lo be produc&d so that the necessary steps can be
taken to r&lU￿ these risks.

Statement of Trustses. Responsibilities
The Trustees are responsib￿ for prep*ing Ihe Trustees. Annual Repjrt and the Financial Statements in accordarKe
vAth the applicable law and Unitd Kingdom A￿OUnt1rQ Starklard5.
The law appllcable to charities in Northem Ireland requi￿% the trustees to prepare financial statements for each
financial year. Under that law the trustees have prepareAJ the financial statements in accordance with Generally.
Accepted Accounting practi￿ in the United ￿ngdoM (accounting standards issued by the Financial RetN)rting
Council in the UK, including Charities SORP (FRS 102). Acojunting and Reporting by Charrtles: Statements of
Recommended Pr&tice appl(cable to charities preparing their accounts in ac￿rdanCe with the Financial Reporting
standard applicable in the United Efjngdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS102) and promubJated by the Institute of
Chartered Accounlanls in the United Kingdom and Unrted Kirodom Law). Under that law the trustees must not
approve the financial ststemenls unless they are sa1sf￿d that they give a true and fair VEW of the state of the affalrs
of the charity and of the ststernent ol f￿ancial actiwties of tte ch￿lty for that peri￿￿.
In preparing these financial statements, the trustees are r4uired to:

make judgements and estimates that a reasonable and prudent.

charity will continue in operation.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose vilh reasonable accuracy at any
Ilme the financlal position of the charity and lo enable them to ensure that the financial statemenls comply wlh the
Charities Act (Northem Ireland) 2008 and the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations INortkErn Ireland) 2008.
They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable sleps for Ihe
prevention and deleclion of fraud and other irregularities.
The trustees are responsible for the malntenance and integrty of the corporate and financial irformalion Included on
Ihe charities website. Legislation in ttre United Kingdom governing the preparation and dissemination of financial
statements may drffer from legislation in other jurisdictions.
Statement as to disclosure to our Independent Examiner
In so far as the trustees are aware at the t1￿￿ng of approving our trustees, annual report:
