Annual General Meeting

Good afternoon everyone. You are very welcome to the Annual General Meeting of the Park 60+
Club.
We hope you have had a lovely Summer. We are delighted to welcome everyone back to the
Group and lookforward to the year 8he8d. We also look forward to working closely with Barry
and Karen and the Learmount Group and of being involved with the CARE Project (a Collective
Approach to Rural Exclusion}.that the Learmount Group are lead project partner of.
As in prioryears, our AGM gives us a chance to come together as a Group and to review our
activities of the previous year.
Over the p8St twelve months, we have participated in a number of enjoy8ble activities such as
arts and crafts, reminiscing, quizzing, bingo, Boccia and armchair aerobics. We have also
enjoyed being involved with the Armstrong Story TellingTrust for 8n intergenerationaL story
telling project whereby we had Madeline Cully come along to the Group to tell stories and
reminisce about out school days. The highlight of this project was when the Year 6 children of
St. Mary's Primary School. Altinure c8me to one of the sessions. We had a lovely afternoon of
story telling with the children. We also had a visit from Rossalind from Age Nl who updated us
on what Age Nl has been up to. We handed over all the innocent smoothie hats forthe Big Knit
Project that had been knitted overthe tast few years. Rosalind was overwhelmed bythe number
and thanked everyone for their effort.
We ended our 202312024 year in June with a Summer trip to Maghera. We went to the Flax
Museum and model railwayvillage Museum in Upperlands in Maghera. This was followed by a
visit to Mid Ulster garden centre and finished off by a lovely meal in Walsh's Hotel in Maghera.
As with last year, we would like to thank the Learmount Group and the CARE Project {which is
funded bythe National Lottery Community Fund for Nll for supporting ourGroupthroughoutthe
year and for fundingthe majority of our activities and meals. The Learmount Group have
another year left on the Project and we atthe Park 60+ Group lookforward to benefiting. Thank
you to Karen and Barry their support and assistance with Park 60+ and for helping us with our
administration.
We had new volunteers join us this year to help out with the Group- Sarah Gormley, CarmeL
Forster and Siobhan O'Kane. Join me in thankingthe Ladies for all their help throughout the year
and for giving up theirtime every Thursday. We are very appreciative of them.
A huge thank you to Nicola Johnston who provided us with home made soup and sandwiches
throughout the year. We look forward to working with Nicola again this year and sampling her
wares.

I would also like to thank EasiLink for providingthe transportfor most of our members and to the
drivers who always show kindness to the members who avail of the service. It is invaluable.
Afurther thankyou goes to Eddie KerLin for maintaining ourfinances and for providing us with
signed, end of year accounts e8ch year. Eddie carries out this service free of charge which is of
a great benefit to the Group.
Lastly, I will finish off my report bythanking each and everyone of you who attend Park 60+
Group each week and thank you all for supporting each other and all that we do, to help
maintain a vibrant, sociable and inclusive Group for everyone involved.
