Chairperson's Report
Good afternoon everyone you are all very welcome to the Annual
General Meeting of the Park 60+ Club.
We were delighted to welcome everyone back to our luncheon club
after a lovely Summer break. We offer our condolences to the family
of Martha Deeney, one of our long term users of the luncheon club
and Committee Members. We also would like to take this
opportunity to thank Caroline Lynch who has retired as Secretary of
Park 60+ Club. Caroline has been invaluable to our organisation over
the last few years and we wish her every success for the future, In
Caroline's stead, we would like to welcome Barry Mccabe who is the
new Development Officer of the Learmount Community
Development Group and who we will be working closely with
throughout the year. Barry will introduce himself and give an
overview of his plans in his new role at the Learmount Community
Development Group,
As usual our AGM gives us an opportunity to give an overview of our
activities over the past year. Throughout the past year we have
participated in numerous activities such as reminiscing, arts and
crafts, armchair aerobics not forgetting our bingo, and Boccia etc.
We had a lovely finish to our club when we closed for the summer
months. We had our Summer outing to Cookstown. We had tea
and scones at the Ponderosa, followed by some shopping in
Cookstown and then a Tea Dance in the Hub in Cookstown. This was
was all finished with a lovely dinner at the Ponderosa on the way
home.

We would like to thank the Learmount Group and the CARE Project
who are funded by the National Lottery Community Support Fund for
supporting our Group through funding for activities and meals.
Through the Big knit Project the group raised £88. This project has
been going for a few years and continues to do well. Rosslyn from
Age Nl helps us to manage this project which involves members of
the group knitting hats to be put on the tops of juice bottles. As well
as our own members of the club knitting the hats we also have local
people from outside the group who contribute hats as well. Thank
you to those who are involved in this project.
Since Covid, we have been using the services of Alison O'Neill who
provides a weekly lunch of soup and sandwiches. We would like to
thank Alison for providing us with a hot lunch every week.
Unfortunately due to other commitments, Alison has had to step
away from the Luncheon Club. In her place, we have recruited Nicola
Johnston who provides us with a lovely hot lunch each week.
At this stage I will continue with the thank yous. Firstly Easilink for
providing the transport and their drivers for the kindness they show
to the members that use the service. We would also like to thank
the Learmount Community Development Group for their support
and assistance with administration funding etc and thank Barry for
taking over where Caroline has left off. I would like to thank our
volunteers who help out tirelessly each week. Lastly I would like to
thank Eddie Kerlin for maintaining our finances and providing us with
signed, end of year accounts. Eddie carries out this service free of
charge which is a great help to the group.
I will finish off by thanking you all for attending the club and
supporting each other by turning up every Thursday to ensure our
club is kept vibrant and interesting for all members.
Thank you.

committee members. Can we have a proposer and seconded.
