ACCOUNTING POLICIES** ## **BASIS OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS** The financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis. The Trustees do not believe that there are any factors or material uncertainties which would impact on the assessment of this. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard 102 and the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP - FRS102) “Accounting and Reporting by Charities” published in July 2014, as required by the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2015. These statements have been prepared on an accruals basis as required by the SORP. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy. Restricted funds comprise (a) income from endowments which is to be expended only on the restricted purposes intended by the donor and (b) revenue donations or grants for a specific congregational activity intended by the donor. Where these funds have unspent balances, interest on their pooled investment is apportioned to the individual funds on an average balance basis. Unrestricted funds are income funds which are to be spent on the congregation’s general purposes.
