**All Girlguiding Ulster Charities are governed by the Royal Charter and Bye-laws.** 

**The Purpose of each of these Charities is to educate girls and young women to help them develop emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually so that they can make a positive contribution to their Community and the wider world.**

## **A summary of the Charity’s main activities to further its purposes for the public benefit and the main achievements in the year** 

There were 31 guides with full membership during the year meeting weekly from Sept until June. The group met weekly from Sept 22 to June 23 in the halls.  The girls completed 2 theme awards and a range of badges with girls completing their bronze and silver awards and  12 guides completing their Gold Award in June 2023. 

There were 2 local residentials during the year for the girls to attend, a weekend in December at Lorne Estate,  Holywood and a glamping overnight in April. In July 2023 a group of 27 spent 6 days in The Netherlands staying at Rotterdam and Amstelveen Scout Centres. We completed a lot of fundraising this year to assist with the international trip costs including a “Big Breakfast” and 80s Disco.  They took part in a range of outdoor activities during the year including opportunities to learn new skills in outdoor cooking and camping. 

There was no harm flowing from Movilla Abbeys Guides & Rangers programme and activities and there were no private benefits.

All Trustees are aware of the Commissions public benefit requirements statutory guidance. 

## **A review of the Charity’s financial position at the end of the year** 

The guide accounts had a surplus of £3074.82 this year.  There was an increase in the income and expenditure compared to the year before due to the International trip and the Education Authority for the units received. 

There is sufficient funds of £7465.29  to begin guiding in September 2023 for another year but this also includes £2800 Education Authority grant, payments received for the September 2023 camp and deposits for the Summer 2024 trip.
