Objectives and Artivttles The charitable purpose of the Church of Ireland Is the advancement of religion. The principal function of Leckpatrick Parish Church is to support the advanment of the Christian religion by promotin& through the work of Leckpatrick Parish Church the whole mission of the Church. pastoral, evangelistic. Social and ecumenical. Bein8 open to and en8agin8 Wlth society as a whole and offerin8 SUPPOrt for those needin8 help are fundamental to the practical delivery of the beneffts of Christianity. As a result of activity in the pursuit of the advanrnent of the Christian reliwon, Leckpatrick Parish Church ha5 Custody of property and of records, materials and artefacts of significance to the ltUrnI and religlous herlta8e and malntenance of which is undertaken by the Select Vestry of Leckpatrldc Parlsh Church. Achlevements, Performance & Publlc Benefft The church has achleved Its objectives by the holding of ular religious servlces and also holdlng varlous youth and other activities for the benefit of the local community. The church holds regular publ1¢ worship servlces on Sundays and also on Wednesdays and Frldays durln8 Other perlods wlthln the Chrlstlan Ilturglcal calendar. As part of the Church's pastoral care to each church familyi Sunday School is held each Sunday durin8 school terms. The Trustees have a child protection policy In place under the control of a Safe8uardln8 Trust Commlttee. Outslde of the worshlp seNlces, the church nom)ally engages In several outreach programmes Into the local communltyi throu8h or8anisatlons such the luncheon dub (for the senior cltizens of the parish), pastoral visitatlon5 are carried out by the Incumbent and trained pastoral visltors to the Inflrmed, elderty and bereaved. Wisits are also made to nurslng homes where prayers are held, hymns sung and bible readings narrated. The Church also organlses an annual fundralslng event whlth Is open to everyone In the local communlty. The Church Hall Is provided for use by other community groups such as Glrf Guides. Women's Instltute, Mothers, Unlon and bowling club. The minlster may serve on the Board ofGovernots forArtigarvan Prlmary School. thls Is covered by one of ourSafe8uardln8 Trust panel members. The Parlsh has 8lven careful conslderatlon to the Charlty Commlsslon for Northern Ireland's guldance on publlc benefit to ensure that the actlvities entered into durin8 the year have helped to achieve the Parlsh's objectsves and artivlties, as well a5 providlng public benefft. After the retirement of Rev. Canon Paul Whlttaker, the work of the con8re8atlon contlnued wlth ternporary cover arran8ed by the Diocese and the Rural Dean, Rev. Canon David McBeth. Rev. Andrea Cotter. was installed as Incumbent of the th Parlsh on 19 Aprll 2024. Flnandal Revlew The Parish had an excess of recelpts over payments of £13,742 for the year ended 31 December 2024. The Parish continues to be in a healthy finanaal state as at 31 December 2024 with totsl cash funds of £202,859.
Trustee Annual Report for the year ended 31 December 2024 (continued) The trustee5 consider that the unrestrlcted funds of the church have suffiuent resources and assets available which are adequate to fulfil their obligations. A detailed analysis of parish income and expenditure is set out in the notes to the financial ststements. Golng Concern The trustees have reviewed the budgets for the year ahead and are satTsfied that there are adequate funds in place to ensure that the Parish can continue its activities and the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2024 can be signed off as a going concern. Structure, Governance and Management Govemlng D¢xument and Constftutlon of the Charfty Chapter 111 of the Constitution of the Church of Iland governs Parlshes and Parochial Organisatlon. The Select Vestry members are the Charity Trustees. Recrultment and Appolntment of Select Vestry All members of the Church of Ireland who are over the age of 18 and are either resident within the parfsh or Ilve elsewhere but have been accustomed members of the con8regation for at least three months, may reglster as members of the 8eneral vestry of the parlsh, allowln8 them to attend and vote at meetings of the 8eneral vestry and to stand for election to the Selett Vestry. Meetings of the General Vestry are held at least once a year. The Select Vestry Is elected as part of thls General Vestry meeting. The Select Vestry wlll hold thelr p05itlons for a perlod of one year. Select Vestry members may be re-elerted annually and there is no Ilmit on the number of terms which may be served. Pay and remuneratlon The Incumbent of the Parlsh's Stlpend Is pald dlrertly by the Dlocese, whlch Is In accordan wlth figure5 approved by the General Synod of the Church of Ireland together with approved office and locomotory allowances. No other Charlty Trustees recelve remuneratlon from Leckpatrick Parlsh a)urd). Organlsatlonal Structure The Selert Vestry Is responslble for the day to day management of the parlsh. The Select Vestry Conslsts of the member of the clerBy serving in the parish. the churchwardens, the glebe wardens and 8enerally not more than twelve other members of the general vestry elerted at the General Vestry. The Selectvestry is chalred bythe Incumbent or other memberof the dergy officiating in the parish. Selectvestry members are responsible for making decislons on matters of general concern and importance to the parish includin8 deciding how parlsh funds are to be applied. The Select Vestry meets at times fixed by the member5 or by the Di0san Synod. Special meetings may be convened at any time by the chairperson or the churchwardens. In 2024 the Select Vestry met 7 times and the avera8e attendance was 75%. Compllance wfth Publk Benefft The Parlsh has given careful consideration to the Charity Commission for Northem Irelands 8uidance on public benefit to ensure that the activltles entered into during the year have helped to achieve the Parish's objectives and activities, as well as providing public benefit.

The law applicable to charities in Northern Ireland with Income of less than £250,000 require5 the trustees to prepare a statement of receipts and payments and ststement of assets and liabilities for each finanaal year. The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records that are sufficient to show and explain the Parish's transactions and disclose with reasonable accurary at any time the assets and liabilities of the Parish. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Parish and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irre8ularities. They consist of a number of bequests and legacies which are invested in the RCB and CIT Unit Trusts. The income from these is available to the parish to be used mainly for general purposes with a portion restricted for 5pecifi¢ use i.e. Sunday School, cholr and buildlng repair. Pur oses of Restrlrted FurKIs Sunday School funds comprise of monies received for use by Sunday School. General funds comprise of monies ceiVed for a specific purpose. Discretionary fund comprises of monie5 set aside for use at Rectorfs discretlon.
