Objertlves and Actlvltles The charitable purpose of the Church of Ireland is the advancement of religlon. The principal function of Leckpatrick Parlsh Church is to support the adVanrnent of the Christian religion by promotin through the work of Leckpatrick Parish Church the whole mission of the Church, pastoral, evangelistic, social and ecumenical. Being open to and engaging with society as a whole and offerlng support for those needing help are fundamental to the practical delivery of the benefits of Christianity. As a result of actlvlty In the pursuit of the advanment of the Christian religion, Leckpatrick Parish Church has custody of property and of records, materials and artefacts of Significance to the cultural and religious herltage and maintenance of whlch is undertaken by the Select Vestry of Leckpatrick Parish Churth. A¢hlevements, Perfomwno & Publk Benefft The church has achieved its objectives by the holdlng of regular rellglous servlces and also holdln8 varlous youth and other artivities for the benefit of the local cornmunrty. The church holds regular publlc worshlp seNlces on Sundays and also on Wednesdays and Friday5 during other perlods withln the Christian Siturgical calendar. As part of the Church's pastoral care to each church family, Sunday School Is held each Sunday durlng Khool terms. The Trustees have a child protection policy In pla under the control of a Safe8uardin8 Trust Committee. Outside of the worship servlces, the church normalty en8ages In several outreach pro8rarnmes Into the local community• through organisatlons such the luncheon club {for the senior cltlzens of the parish), pastoral visltations are carried out by the Incumbent and tralned pastoral vlsltors to the infimied, elderly and bereaved. Vislts are also made to nursln8 homes where prayer5 are held, hymns sung and bible readirw narrated. The Church also organlses an annual fundraislng event whlth Is open to everyone in the local community. The Church Hall Is provlded for use by other community groups such as Glrf Guides. Women's Institute, Mothers, Unlon and bowling club. The mlnister may serve on the Board of Governors for Artlgarvan Prlmary School. thls Is covered by one of our Safeguarding Trust panel members. The Parish has given careful consideration to the Charity Commlsslon for Northern Ireland's 8uldance on publlc benefit to ensure that the artivities entered into during the year have helped to achieve the Parish's objective5 and activitie5, as well as providing public benefft. Rev Canon Paul Whittaker retlred In March 2023 and hls replacement. Rev. Andrea Cotter, was Installed as Incumbent of the Parlsh on 19 Aprll 2024. In the interim the work of the congregation continued with temporary Ver arranged bv the Di0Se and the Rural Dean, Rev Canon Davld McBeth. Flnandal Revlew The Parish had an excess of recelpts over payments of £22.271 for the year ended 31 December 2023. The Parish continues to be in a healthy financial state as at 31 December 2023 with totsl cash funds of £189,117.

Golng Concern The trustees have revlewed the budgets for the year ahead and are satisfied that there are adequate funds In place to ensure that the Parish can continue its actÉvities and the financial statements for the year ended 31 December 2023 can be signed off as a going concern. The Selert Vestry members are the Charity Trustees. Retrultment arKI Appolntment of Select Vestry All members of the Church of Ireland who are over the age of 18 and are either resldent within the parish or Ilve elsewhere but have been accustomed members of the congregation for at least three months. may register as members of the general vestry of the parish, allowing thern to attend and vote at meetings of the 8eneral vestry and to stand for electlon to the Select Vestry. Meetln8s of the General Vestry are held at least ono a year. The Select Vestry is elected as part of thls General Vestry meetin8. The Select Vestry wlll hold thelr posltlons for a perlod of one year. Select Vestry members may be re*lected annually and there is no limit on the number of temis which may be served. Pay and remuneratlon The Incumbent of the Parish's stlpend is paid directly by the DI0e, whlch is In accordance wlth figures approved by the General Synod of the Church of Ireland together with approved office and locomotory allowances. One other Charlty Trustee receive5 a remuneration from Leckpatrick Parish Church for employment dutles as sexton. Or8anlsatlonal Structure The Select Vestry is responsible for the day to day management of the parlsh. The Select Vestry consists of the member of the clergy serving in the parish, the churchwardens, the 8lebe wardens and generally not more than twelve other members of the general vestry elerted at the General Vestry. The Select Vestry Is chaired by the incumbent or other member of the dergy officiatin8 in the parlsh. Select Vestry members are responsible for makin8 declslons on matters of general concern and importance to the par15h includlng decldin8 how parlsh funds are to be applied. The Select Vestry meets at time5 fixed by the members or by the Dlocesan Synod. Special meetings may be convened at any time by the chairperson or the churchwarden5. In 2023 the Select Vestry met 6 times and the avera8e attendance was 75%. Report and the statement of recelpts and payments and statement of assets and liabilities in accordance with applicable law and regulations. The law applicable to charities in Northern Ireland with Income of less than £250.(KX) requires the trustees to prepare a statement of receipts and payments and a statement of assets and Ilabilities for each financial year. The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records that are suffioent to show and explain the Parish's transactions and disclose with reasonable accuracy at any tlme the assets and Ilabilities of the Parish. They are also responsible for Safeguarding the a$5ets of the Parish and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities.
