Accounting policies Set out below are the principal aLYounting policies which have been adopted in the compilation of the Receipts and Payments Account and the Statement of Assets and Liabilities (a) Receipts and Payments Account All itwns of income and expenditure included within the Receipts and Pajinents Account have been accounted for on a cash rettipts basis. (b) Slatement of Assets aDd Liabilitie8 (i) Assels relainedfor ihe Parish's own xse The assets of the Paris1 retained for its own use ¢omprise:_ Church Building and Graveyard Gl¢be lands Rectory The Church Building and Graveyard are deemed to be Heritage assets as defined by the Charities SORP (FRS102). These Heritsge assets are not included in the Statement of Assets and Liabilities as ]nforntIOn on the cost or valuation is not available and such infomation cannot be obtained at a cost mmensurate with the benefit to the users of th¢ accounts and to the parish. The Parish owns approximately 26 acres of glebe lands located at Killaloo. These are vested in the RCB. Responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep of the glebe lands Tests with the Select Vesty. The glebe lands are recorded in the Statement of Assets and Liabilities at a valuation plad on them by the trustees. The Rectory is owned by the 4 churches within the guP and has not been included in the Statement of Assets and Liabilities. The Rectory is included in the Statement of Assets and Liabilities of Cumber Upper Parish ChUh. ll) Invatments Fixed asset investjnents in RCB and CIT are initially recorded at wst and are then subsequently stated at fair value at each year end date. The Church holds 415 shares in a pooled investment in DFC. The Church is entitled to receiv¢ dividends but cannot sell the shares. These are not included in the SLqtement of Assets and Liabilities.
