## **Annual Report 2022**

The year 2022 was an interesting year, we were out from under the Covid restrictions but people still felt uncomfortable. Pastoral home and hospital visits are regular again and people were willing to have visitors in their homes. Homes for the elderly are open again and that brings some new contacts.

The weekly and monthly clubs are getting going again: Sunday School Mothers’ Union Craft Group Study Group Vestry and Committee meetings Badminton Club for children and teens

Guides and Rangers

In 2022 we started a monthly Men’s breakfast meeting as some felt it was important to have a place for men to talk and address some mental health issues.

We hosted a Coffee Evening, this was always a fun evening for the community. We had over 150 visitors over the space of the evening. It is a fundraising night but the emphasis has always been on ‘fun’, catching up with people you haven’t seen since last year, and this was special as it was the first one hosted post covid restrictions however the atmosphere was dampened as the Coffee Evening was held on the evening of the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

The planning for the Flower Festival 2023 is well underway. The Team met each week to design the stands, and to help train people in hospitality, designing arrangements with the help of the Floral Director (Mark Allen Ma Fleur) and to help people to appreciate the importance of being a welcoming community. We have approached our two local primary schools and they are planning to join us for the welcoming morning. The Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council and has provisionally given an indication of attendance to officially open the Flower Festival.

We still have the allocated sum of £2500 for an art project with children with Ross Wilson when he is available.

The Tower Repair has been the concern for a number of years now, we have been making applications for grants for the repair work and we hope with the help of the Conservation Architect we have employed that this work will commence late 2024/early 2025.

The Trustees have seen positive movements in the community now we are on the right side of Covid and look forward to more ‘gatherings’ in the future.
